The cheapest (and my personal favorite!) R-Strap yet
By MiRSD TOP 1000 REVIEWER on Feb 9, 2015 I'll begin by saying I have owned 10+ R-Straps.. Several RS-4's, an RS-5, 2 RS Dual-Straps and now 2 Mix Shots.
Certainly one of my greatest gripes using the RS4 and RS-5 are they could slip. I constantly found my shoulder strap "slipping" forward with use, and it got pretty annoying. Seeing the rubber grip around the Mix Shot had me provide an opportunity.
My primary concern: Ugly orange! (the Mix Shot was initially only offered in Orange.. it isn't in black, thanksfull!), Next: It is the least expensive R-Strap and has additional features.. whats wrong by using it? And lastly, the fast release clip-on the rear.
Fortunately, none of those were an issue!
The Cross Shot uses a molded rubber grip over the strap (instead of the prior fabric shoulder pieces). I had been expecting a good fabric strap having a sliding rubber sheath regarding this, but it's really molded on the top from the strap. I actually do question how lengthy it'll endure for with repeated use, but to date no issues.
The rubber works! It provides a pleasant grip in your shoulder so they won't slide around.
The Cross Shot includes a free Lockstar connector (an additional safety feature, usually offered individually)
The mix shot folds up nice and compact (Regrettably, unlike my other straps they didn't incorporate a pouch with this one)
Finally, my worry about the fast release -- the rear of the strap includes a quick-release buckle.. these scare me when you're talking about the buckle holding (Sometimes) 1000s of dollars of apparatus. Let's say it snags and will get un-tied? what if a person pops up behind you and clicks the buckle?
Some of my other R-Straps (the twin strap) include these buckles, and the idea has always freaked me out. Read more › Comment 16 of 16 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? I love this strap is a touch lower profile compared to RS-7. The hardware is really a dark gunmetal color that blends along with your camera body nicely. Strap pad is super grippy. I love that it arrives with the LockStar accessory. Keeps the metal on metal banging low. I am unsure concerning the sling style straps. Hope I'm able to get accustomed to getting your camera hanging low and along the side of my body system instead of my chest. *Edit After while using strap numerous occasions, I like the sling style. It's very fast and simple to bring your camera as much as your skills. The lockdown buckle keeps your camera pretty stable at the hip. Unlike a conventional strap, there's forget about bouncing in your chest when walking or getting your camera swing around and dangle when bending over. Make certain to evaluate the tightness from the screw from time to time. One factor I do not like is the opportunity of your camera to decrease off if you do not keep your screw tight. Ok Last One, and you cannot mount to some tripod while using the this strap.Comment 12 of 13 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Farron D. Brougher on September 14, 2014 To be sure using the positive comments of other reviewers and will not repeat them. I personally use the Mix Shot within the shoulder instead of mix body, and it feels secure.
The Black Rapid straps are very well made, and though I have not had one lengthy enough to evaluate durability, I have faith that they'll endure daily travel use and Packing.
My only reservation, and the reason behind 4 instead of 5 stars, may be the tripod socket attachment. After I check it several occasions each day I've found it has loosened. The rubber grommet or washer does not lock the attachment safely. I am thinking about trying something similar to Loc Tite, but that will negate the benefit of having the ability to easily take away the strap from travel. The carabiner can be taken off, but if you are while using lock this too should be removed and changed. None of the will matter when the strap can be used like a "set it and no way" accessory.4 Comments 7 of seven people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... I have used Black Rapid connectors for quite some time now on my small Canon DSLRs and now on my small Fuji X-T1 too. They have labored great and my neck thanks me. As pointed out by another reviewer the only real disadvantage for me personally was they tucked on my small shoulder. The comfy shoulder pad didn't have grip on my small clothing.
The mix shot fixes that completely using the very grippy rubber and I really like it. It also costs under these BR straps.
I've L-plates on my cameras and messing and unscrewing the fastener to maneuver between strap and tripod would be a discomfort within the backside. Fortunately RRS were built with a solution. Now I have experienced my strap mounted on an RRS B2-FABN clamp and existence now is easier again.

It's one of the more affordable BlackRapid straps
By darbochrome on March 23, 2015
This strap rocks !. It's one of the most affordable BlackRapid straps, therefore it does not possess the loop factor around the shoulder pad for that joeys and Other Add-ons. The information is really a nicely textured soft rubber, and it stays on my small shoulder nicely. If only BR would come with some kind of tether in the strap loop around the carabiner to among the camera's lugs. it's most likely not essential, but it provides reassurance. (I am utilizing a Wii-remote wrist strap like a tether).Comment 2 of two people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
