Being unsure of which window feeder will be the best, I decided to purchase three types offered on . I added an image towards the item from the three on my small window. (I am sorry for that dark image. I had been attempting to keep from scaring the wild birds away.)
#1 The Aspects Window Cafe was my favorite (C within the picture)
Aspects Window Cafe Hopper
- most popular with the birds
- easy to fill
- most durable when it falls from the window (darn squirrels!)
- the feeder can be removed for cleaning while leaving the suction cups on window
(I love that therefore it will keep a much better hang on your window.)
- easy to remove the hulls left behind
- unfortunately the most expensive of the 3
#2 The Droll Yankees Window Feeder comes in 2nd place (B within the picture)
Droll Yankees OWF Observer Window Bird Feeder
- second favorite of the birds
- it can fit a few at a time which was nice
- not as easy to fill
- entire feeder needs to be taken off of the window for cleaning
- difficult to remove the hulls left behind
#3 Birdscapes Clear Window Feeder (A within the picture)
Birdscapes Clear Window Feeder 348
- not well-liked by the wild birds. Read more › 6 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. By Customer TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE on August 8, 2012 size: 3/4 Quart I am a lengthy time bird feeding enthusiast within Colonial. I've feeders at a number of places within my yard, and also provide had a number of window feeders through the years too. A couple of things about window feeders I've determined to date in my opinion is that virtually each one is overpriced, and, that lots of are cheaply designed to add insult to injuries. I've had some window appliances require me to pay three occasions around others and be produced either just like cheaply, or perhaps at occasions just fail for the reason that they constantly obtain the seed wet, or disappear constantly. This Window Coffee shop feeder is for me the very best window model I've ever owned. I've a couple of them and intend to order more. they're very sturdy, have three suction cups for added holding strength, (most designs include two, No matter cost), and, the trays are removable for simple cleaning. The lengthy roof line will a good job of maintaining your feeders from being wet, and it also holds an ample quantity of seed for any window model. last but definitely not least, it's very affordable when compared with many who tend to be more costly and no were close to good. As of times of the writing your window Coffee shop even ships free of charge when bundled.
To conclude, around I really like watching the wild birds inside my feeders outside, there really is not anything like being inside relaxing and seeing them just fly close up and feed in the window. I like that one, and I have experienced many of these. this really is my personal favorite undoubtedly. Highly suggested... : )Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By B. Chapin on December 9, 2007 Size: 3/4 Quart I've attempted a variety of types of window feeders and that one is the greatest. I live where we obtain plenty of snow and this feeder's roof protects the seed from getting too wet. Additionally, it holds a substantial amount of seed so we do not have to refill it as being frequently. The bluejays avoid it because they are too big to suit onto it. We obtain plenty of chickadees, titmouse, and finches at this feeder1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By M. Brushaber on March 2, 2008 Size: 3/4 Quart
We've got this birdfeeder for the sons' bed room window. They love getting out of bed to watching wild birds getting breakfast in their window. I had been afraid it could blow lower on windy days therefore we required the underside part off whenever we had 40 miles per hour gusts. We'd another severe wind warning and I barely got home before 70 miles per hour gusts were hitting our home. I went nearby to consider it lower and bits of metal roofing were flying towards the backyard and so i returned inside and thought, "Oh well, there goes the birdfeeder." I went within my boys room to look at it get amazed and all the seed was being released as if you begin to see the jackpot cash on tv, but the birdfeeder didn't budge. Happy using the purchase.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. By B. Kay on April 5, 2009 Size: 3/4 Quart Small wild birds like to take a seat on this feeder in the window. Squirrels will chew on the top to access the seeds. I was able to cure that problem by mixing some hot pepper suet chunks into the seed mix (not dangerous to wild birds, but Squirrels hate it).1 Comment Was this review useful for you? By ockeghem on The month of january 22, 2011 Size: 3/4 Quart This can be a nice, well-made feeder that does not empty out rapidly despite the fact that we obtain plenty of wild birds eating from this on the patio table. The rooftop is really a boon lots of wild birds like to find after it's snowed, simply because they could possibly get in and get food with a few shelter in the snow.
We encountered two issues with this feeder, However. You'll observe that I stated above the feeder is on the patio table, and both problems performed into that. 1) When installed on our window, the feeder attracted rats. I mounted it high up on the window (8 ft off the floor), and I put red pepper flakes in to the seed, but neither helped. Apparently black rats, the type i was attracting, are great climbers and aren't discouraged by red pepper. These were climbing in the window pane dividers on the home windows to get at the feeder. they can't, However, ascend the top end from the tripod legs on the little, metal patio table thus, the feeder can there be now. 2) Wild birds were unwilling to make use of the feeder if this was installed on your window. They'd land and then remove immediately if there is any movement in the home. I purchased the feeder so my daughter often see the wild birds she loves close up, but which was a bust because the wild birds wouldn't compare. They'll land and make use of the feeder with abandon in the backyard table, though, despite the fact that it is just about 5 ft in the window.
Although it was around the window, though, we did not have issues with the suction. The feeder held the load of a giant rat without coming a little loose. I have found it's made well, but it does not focus on your window within our conditions.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
