9 of 9 people found the following review helpful Designed for ground-feeding birds
By Big Guy on May 2, 2012 There is not lots of distinction between this feeder and most that have the identical design. I'd give one star towards the large amount of them. reason? A minimum of sixty-six per cent from the see goes on the floor. Once you discover this kind of feeder for action, it is not difficult to understand why. The bird arrives, arrives at among the perches alongside each hopper Opening, and goes in the seeds. There is however nothing stopping the seeds the bird did not acquire from falling with the gap between perch and Opening. I set a tray on the floor to trap the majority of the seed, then wondered why I bothered to compensate for a stupid design.
There is a reason that old, home-made wooden birdfeeders were platforms with roofs. The bird food remained within the feeder.1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... just what I had been searching for! very affordable, Holds a substantial amount of food and it rains here a great deal and so i was worried the seeds would get wet but they remained totally dry the little food slots the wild birds eat from, I've had for around per week and this being my first feeder I had been worried the wild birds wouldn't arrived at it, and so i placed some seeds below it and wha la! Wild birds were eating from this, Very simple to fill The only real downfall people might have happens when the wild birds eat from this, the seeds do fall down there's no bottom catcher, but individuals seeds aren't wasted the wild birds will eat them.Comment Was this review useful for you? Is effective on the pole and hanging from the tree--I've two. Sure the small songbirds knock lots of food lower, but the doves and other wild birds possess a party and fix it all up off the floor.Comment Was this review useful for you? By Anna B. On May 6, 2014
should you hang it on the longish hook, That's. Love this little feeder, it's perfect for little birds (bigger wild birds can't fit around the feeding bar) and since the seeds stay inside and not inside a little tray, they do not get wet and squirrels have a problem looking to get them out and Quit! like it.Comment Was this review useful for you? Our neighborhood squirrels destroy a minimum of 3 feeders every summer time and so i opted for the Perky Pet Carriage feeders. Since summer time is due a detailed and we have a tendency to put less seed in the autumn I made the decision to provide these feeders a go because they are smaller sized than most carriage feeders.
While the feeders are far from squirrel proof they do hold a great deal of seed (in regards to a pound or more each feeder) and they are able to withstand the weather. The feeder does lack a bottom tray so loose seeds do fall to the ground pretty frequently, but the floor feeding wild birds don't mind it one bit.
Great upgrade on the cost.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. Sorry, we unsuccessful to record your election. Please try again A waste of money
By Vennie Anderson on This summer 5, 2014
First really negative review I have ever written. I purchased this feeder to exchange one which squirrels had broken. After I unpacked it' was dismayed to determine the construction appeared flimsy. In addition once i filled it with seeds and attempted to hold it, the very best wouldn't settle back to place therefore the feeder would hang straight. a total waste of money. I rehung the broken feeder--a minimum of it hangs straight and two perches aren't broken.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By scooterjoey on April 19, 2015
This hangs inside a tree outside. it's durable and holds a substantial amount of birdseed. The only real factor I dislike is how a lid attaches. You need to twist the lid and fit it over little an eye on the bottom. It does not always continue easily especially since i have buy this hanging inside a tree. but, I've discovered will be able to place the lid on loosely and it still stays on just fine (the wild birds don't move it or release it).Comment Was this review useful for you? is effective to date. Sure it's plastic & will most likely break eventually, but it's cheap, looks nice & will get the task done. I've not been with them lengthy enough to note the seed falling under it as being noted in another review, but It's what It's. you receive what you have to pay for!Comment Was this review useful for you?
