BY P. Powell on May 25, 2012
I got myself two Chamberlain 3/4 hp openers this past year after i purchased a home. Just making your way around to installing the openers now and learned that I desired this package since i have 8' doorways. I din't notice it during the time of purchase, but it states so directly on this area. not a problem, Prime, and I acquired them 2 days later.
This area includes the more extended finish piece, an extended substitute belt, a bag of hardware, and Instructions. Set up isn't any different except you simply exchange the 2 parts within the package using the ones incorporated using the opener. super easy to put together.
*Note about the opener itself*
Browse the instructions first since you will most likely need to make a visit to the harware store to buy such things as position iron for bracing the doorway and mounting the ability unit, nuts, bolts, wood screws etc.Comment Was this review useful for you? For those who have an 8 feet garage doors and purchase a Chamberlain belt drive opener, you'll need this. The package includes substitute parts for that belt, disconnect rope, and one entire rail. The instructions incorporated let you know exactly what to do with these parts (for brand new installation it really is incredibly simple. I didn't perform a retrofit, and so i cannot discuss individuals instructions).
I made use of one of these simple kits with an opener purchased in and one which I got myself in your own home Depot and everything labored perfectly.
It might be nice if Chamberlain offered their openers in 8 feet kits. Personally i think it's inefficient since I've that old belt and a portion of the old rail just lounging within my garage, destined for that trash. It in all probability might have saved some cash also had I had the ability to purchase it in a single package using the opener.1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... This can be a necessary add-on part for that Chamberlain garage doors openers. (presuming, Obviously, that the garage doors is 8-ft tall.) but: most doorways are. It's a unusual garage doors nowadays that will use the "base package" that is included with a Chamberlain opener.
so, Please, if you are planning to set up a Chamberlain garage doors opener, you have to visit the garage and measure you. You cannot just guess. You will have to be accurate and buy whichever extension package works best for you. This is not an optional step!
For that record: we're loving our new garage doors opener. very quiet, and it features a lot of wonderful features. I understand this review is perfect for the extension package... but you would not be around should you did not possess the door opener too. So do not allow the added cost of extra time package help you stay from an excellent make of garage doors openers. Yes, it's annoying as hell they make you purchase this package for what the majority of us say is a "normal" size garage doors. but, whatever. The garage doors opener is effective and this package is extremely simple to incorporate in to the base unit.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... I am basing this review around the product itself, and this is not on my estimation that Chamberlain will include this standard in most their belt-driven garage doors openers.
The merchandise is fairly easy. For those who have an 8-feet garage doors, you'll need this extension package. otherwise, the conventional package won't be lengthy enough for the door to traverse the required length to completely open the doorway. The merchandise is of the identical grade and quality because the provided rail and belt in your new garage doors opener package. The only real factor you are really doing is substituting the the initial front rail section with this particular front rail section. It's exactly the same part, only longer. Additionally, this package features a longer belt to now accommodate the general longer rail. Additionally they toss in a few extra parts that we found I didn't require, e.G., an extended rope for that emergency release handle, and an additional support bar to supply greater stability for that motor mount.
The install was super easy because this package needed no further effort than what is needed to do the initial install. Once more, this just replaces parts inside your new garage doors opener. All over again, pleading the issue, why don't you include these parts within the original box? I recieve the additional cost connected with including both rail headers and devices, but for any major manufacturer it's pennies around the dollar.Comment Was this review useful for you? By Eroc on This summer 1, 2011 You actually need this for those who have a 8ft door, the fellas at Chamberlin really had advisable regarding how to cause you to waste your money in your opener.. lets ask them to spend extra cash for a short time more, really when they had made the 7ft rail like 8" longer it might work..... they're absurd, but for those who have a 8ft door, yes you will have to buy this package.
yes everything fits well together, make sure to possess the holes within the correct orientation before assembling.1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... I bought two WD962KEV's (Lowe's) as my 15 years old Craftsman's passed away this past year. I put one together without realizing initially which i have 8' tall doorways and out-of-the-box only 7' is supported. What can be purchased in this area are obvious and simple instructions, another compressed-spring bolt (non-technical term but in situation you had been much like me and recognized past too far that you'll require this extension package and already disengaged the spring), an extended manual release rope, new belt, a longer front-facing rail (the extension itself that attaches towards the header bracket), another unit bracket, an extended position brace, and a couple of more hardware products but that's the gist. Installation was easy as I had to pry-back the 3 sets of indented 'locks' (that prevent each rail from separating) to get rid of the 'old' front-facing rail and slid the brand new on on. Needed to take my belt wheel from the old rail and so i could use it the brand new one, installed the brand new belt and used the recently provided spring-secure and Voila! You will get up with mounting it!Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us.
