By Lonnie E. Holder HALL OF FAME TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE on October 31, 2006 I've got a love-hate exposure to huge Lego sets. I really like their features and Complexity, but I personally don't like their cost. This set is among the more costly Lego sets, but it's packed with features. However, it's a little fragile, for a Lego. Around the plus side, anybody getting this set would be the envy of the buddies, when they love The Exorcist Legos.
Lego recommends this looking for children ages 9 to 14. The primary reason would be that the set contains 1,366 bits of sizes, and the set up steps require two instruction books. Once you have built this immense (nearly two feet lengthy) Package, you've among the largest The Exorcist Lego Sets available.
The bridge opens to show controls and a spot for two crew people, who should be Grand Moff Tarkin and an imperial officer. You are able to take away the bridge and its connected structure in the lower area of the shipped to then have the ability to open the panels within the shipped to reveal the inside from the ship. The bridge portion includes "lasers," a couple of which may be launched a really short distance by tapping a control button. The only issue using these "lasers" is they have a tendency to drop out after i tilt the ship forward. The panels that open around the lower area of the ship mount four turbo lasers that pivot and tilt after some effort. Two lasers with limited motion will also be installed on these panels.
Whenever you open the ship there's lots of room available within the ship. This space includes room for 2 storm troopers, Darth Vader, two royal pads, R2-D5, and a Mouse Android. By Review Master J on October 17, 2006 I judge legos according to two factors. Appearance and Playability
This factor will get a 5 stars set for appearance. Its massive, and it appears good. It appears as though a Star Destroyer, not really a cut away of the Star Destroyer or simply part of the star destoyer. Certainly one of my greatest gripes about modern lego sets is the fact that Lego appears to possess become from making their sets seem like what they should be. for example, the Harry Potter Castles are actually just servings of the castles they're cut aways. Should you take a look at them in the side or back it ruins the result since it does not seem like the outdoors of the castle. Within the 80s, the castles were awesome all angles, and to determine the interior parts you'd to spread out them up. well, the Star Destroyer now has wrinkles school like this. In the outdoors it appears as though Star Destroyer all angles. Too see intricacies you open it up up. Good job Lego.
Another factor I take a look at is playability. I give this set a 4 of every 5 in this region. The items I search for are the ingenius little Lego mechanics, devices, and devices which make the sets fun to fool around with. That one has darth vadar's meditation chamber with by hand operated a crane to get rid of his helmet, a platform where vadar foretells the emperor hologram, an escape shuttle that flies out the bottom (This is effective and does not easily drop out on accident), a storage closet for stormtrooper rifles, and a bridge having a clever sliding motion whenever you open it up. How you take away the the top to the open it up up can also be pretty clever.
Although this factor could be fragile inside a couple places, I didn't have issues with it failing. I have had zero issues with the underside receding like other peoples have pointed out. By G. Sabol on August 30, 2006 I just purchased this set from Target today (31-year-old AFOL). I got myself this set due to the unique parts selection, quantity of minifigs and since it is the The Exorcist Imperial Star Destroyer!
It was a collection I needed to obtain after buying Jabba's Sail Barge. It looked quite interesting and included minifigs (that the bigger 10030 Ultimate Collector's Series model didn't include). Whilst not as large or detailed because the 10030 model, this model certainly provides extensive playability.
As I wasn't impressed using the firing mechanism from the blasters around the bridge or even the inclusion of imperial pads, overall the model is extremely impressive. It required me nearly three hrs to place the set together. I discovered the set to be really well-built and Detailed. There's a distinctive mechanism to split up the various bits of the model that we really loved. My 4-year-old boy enjoyed having fun with the set and it did not break as they was having fun with it.
I'd recommend this model to anybody who would like to give a The Exorcist icon for their LEGO collection. enjoy!Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... I began building the set and I had been suprised at just how much each area of the set requires an advanced of concentration. The amount of detail is really amazing. My personal favorite area of the set may be the turbines around the rear. It appears pricey, but for those who have a hundred dollars in your wallet, this can be a high reccomendation. The only issue which i experienced could be that the set is slightly fragile. To a few of the kids, especially the one that stated this set is evil, you most likely built it wrong. Some flaws within the set are occasionally within the most apparent places.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
