compact and durable by T. Cost on May 7, 2010 I made use of this the very first time a week ago in Gettysburg, pa. We'd 4 people plus equipment packed into my Jeep Patriot for that drive. The grill is 24"x 1 or 1 1/2" once the legs are folded set for storage. It had been simple to pack in with all the other equipment. I had been concerned about heat from the fire to warping the grill. We was without a blazing fire, but at occasions whenever we would give a log the flame would enjoy. I don't recommend ensure that is stays within the fire when you're done cooking and add three or four logs onto it previously. Overall I had been thrilled using the purchase and recommend it to anybody who enjoys cooking more than a fire. On the side note, the legs remained awesome then when the time had come to get rid of the grill, it had been simple to get it and move them back. Purchasing POINTS: 1. compact, simple to tote around and put any place in your vehicle. 2. Durable to cooking with different heat sources (wood logs & charcoal). 3. (for me personally) The legs remained awesome and in position the whole time within the fire. We'd a pit and the legs weren't in touch with the fireplace but were in touch with heat. also: keep your box, that means by situation your grill isn't perfectly clean when putting it in your vehicle the following day you've got a storage box to maintain your vehicle clean. I only gave it four stars since it preformed well the very first time, I'll update it to 5 in the finish of year as lengthy because it keeps the three buying points. (update) - The grill works too the very first season because it did another seasons. This area continues to be my storage space and it's not damaged apart yet. The grill appears to be it did your day I opened up it as they are. Well worth the money to invest and you'll have it a lengthy time.5 Comments 88 of 90 people found this useful. Please try again You need to burn the grill first to eliminate the paint! By Rumplestiltskin on April 29, 2013 A great grill, compact and durable. For individuals people complaining concerning the paint smell, you need to burn the grill before utilizing it. Just place the grill upside lower within the fire for many minutes and you'll burn the paint. Same any time you utilize it which means you kill bacterias and remove rests of grease or food you've cooked before.Comment 26 of 26 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? By Chuck Fulcer on October 5, 2010 My sister is really a gourmet prepare and loves cooking around the fire. However, she always used the round tripod within the fire. It hangs on chains, and a couple of occasions she's dropped food or pans directly into the fireplace. I purchased this grill personally, introduced it on the last camping trip, and she fell deeply in love with it! also, whether it's too near to the fire, we simply put two logs between your grill and the fireplace pit ring to really make it greater. I have seen the mesh grill sag a little, but it returns to original shape when it is cooled lower. For rust, I've not seen any red carpet uses. I actually do recommend that you employ a grill brush to wash it, and spray it with PAM before use, on the other hand after brushing it clean for storage. After spraying with PAM, I put mine into the original plastic bag and Card board box, and it is simply new the next time I personally use it. Great product!2 Comments 32 of 34 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. Sorry, we unsuccessful to record your election. Please try again Worked great on our camping trip By James Lin VINE VOICE on October 2, 2007 I purchased one of these simple for any camping trip and it labored great. We cooked steaks, porkchops, and onions directly on the grill and everything switched out perfectly. Becasue it is not very wide, you are able to wrap some foil regarding this to assist trap some heat. it's pretty heavy, but once it's folded away, it hardly occupies any space. becasue it is wide and flat, it may sit towards the bottom of the trunk or below a back seat. Sorry, we unsuccessful to record your election. Please try again This grill ROCKS! By Dan Gildea on This summer 30, 2013 Exactly what a pleasure! Large enough to suit a sizable kettle, 14" surefire pan, and another 10" pan. Tall enough to include wood towards the fire while cooking and large enough surface to simply work different heat zones. it isn't heavy and easy to pack (well, this really is originating from somebody that packed a surefire pan which was much heavier...and transported both trailblazing through Northwest backwoods). After 5 days of heavy use the grill hadn't warped (As the second review pointed out)...was perfect. I would not try grilling anything on it before the paint around the grill burns off. It shed around the first use and caused just a little concern but wasn't a problem after. It is a very sturdy and well created grill. Ideal for someone developing a campground.Comment 10 of 10 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Bubba on September 9, 2014 Texsport makes 3 sizes, 16x12, 24x16 and a 36x18. My ideas around the sizes. I needed one which was large enough for five and from time to time for 10 and still semi portable enough. The 16x12 was way they canrrrt really prepare anything on in excess of 2 people and that's only if you're restricting it to some couple of hotdogs or burgers or something like that without anything else around the grill. May be O.K. for packing it right into a trail for camping and you need to sacrifice size. The biggest 36x18 was greater than I desired but for serious people who like to cooK and size isn't an issue, I'd have that one as you have extra room to possess an area rich in temperature, another lower temperature and a large part for heating a pot water or keeping things warm for instance but it had been too large in my use. I settled for that midsize of 24x16 because in my situation I recieve just a little pros and cons between all of the sizes. If you would like you will get two grills and Mix and match to obtain more kitchen area and you will find the versatility of utilizing both grills a treadmill for individuals occasions you do not need more kitchen area. The 24 x16 is very large enough to place two foil half pans up with a couple of inches to spare to prepare some hotdogs among them or something like that. I'd one half size foil pan somewhere warming up something and was grilling on the other hand. The bottom of the grill once the legs are dispersed open is 30 1/4" across in situation should you be wondering whether it would squeeze into some fire bowls. For those who have a little pit you may either keep your legs folded and just lay the grill within the pit or simply unfold one leg and lay sleep issues from the grill around the ledge from the fire bowl. Just make certain the grill is stable obviously. I only tried on the extender once to date and I haven't experienced the black coating flaking off as some have pointed out.
