67 of 70 people found the following review helpful Is effective. Takes a bit of skill to apply By Man in the centre VINE VOICE on The month of january 27, 2012 size: 36 Inches Vine Customer Overview of Free Product These knowledge about door edge pads is by using plastic U-channels that slide in place around the fringe of a vehicle door. Individuals work nicely, but are highly visible (Ugly.) The product is much more just like a thick semi-sticky plastic tape. It is not everything difficult to apply correctly, but does might need some skill. My first mistake was at only washing the outdoors from the vehicle door in advance. Because the tape is supposed to fold over and also stick inside fringe of the doorway, this too should be well cleaned in advance. Once which was done, my outcome was excellent, inside a total duration of under ten minutes. Should you look cautiously from the couple of ft away the tape is barely visible - even further away, it's entirely unnoticeable in my experience. Best to know my vehicle doorways are actually invisibly protected. Other pointers: 1) don't install on the sharp bend in. The tape is forgiving of minor alterations in direction, but has nowhere to get in a ninety degree bend. I solved that by beginning below that bend, that is fine because the tape still covers something that might hit another object because the door opens. 2) If you need to shorten the tape (when i did), it may seem easiest to chop in a 45 degree diagonal from both directions, and then finish having a 90 cut between your diagonals - quite simply, the same shape as 3 sides of the stop sign. More easily approximates the rounded fringe of the initial tape. 3) If you love existing nicks in edge, fix individuals first. As my 2002 Prius is really a decade old this month, I did not bother. Finally, in case your vehicle has 4 doorways, you will need a couple of these kits.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Eaton VINE VOICE on March 6, 2012 size: 36 Inches Vine Customer Overview of Free Product I purchased this being unsure of that application needs a temperature with a minimum of 55F. So I needed to wait a couple of days to use. It's a very thin material so time will inform whether it provides any protection. Only 4 stars since it is so thin. 3/6/12 Today is sufficiently warm, and so i washed the doorway edge with soap, washed and Dried. Oh oh! I came across the inner door advantage on my Honda is ridged. The ridged materials are a rather rubbery material that's been colored to match the automobile color. This might allow it to be harder to stay. However, application was simple enough - hard part gets exactly half around the outer door edge and half around the inner. I didn't have it as even while I planned, but it's obvious so slight unevenness isn't noticeable. well, regardless of the ridged inner door edge the video did stick. Does it stick lengthy term? Does it provide any protection? I'll attempt to update inside a couple of days. 3/22/12 Although the inner door fringe of my Honda is ridged, the 3M film continues to be sticking. I've not bumped the doorway edge yet and so i still have no idea just how much protection it offers. 11/22/12 Still sticking and No problems. It appears to become stopping paint chips in the door edge. 3/25/13 I would say there is a slight bit of yellowing (barely visible from the white-colored Honda paint), but otherwise it's still doing good. I've altered my rating from four to five stars.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. These were plastic bumpers that slide within the fringe of the vehicle door, that you simply position in the level in which the door could be probably to make contact with another object. All individuals have four or five drawbacks: First, they always disappear eventually, and eventually they'll disappear and be lost. second, being merely a couple of inches lengthy they merely safeguard a couple of inches of paint, and they slide, so that they might not continually be protecting where they have to. Third, Water and grime collect together and the paint, resulting in corrosion. And 4th, they are type of ugly. The product covers the whole fringe of the doorway, and it's adhesive, and it's almost invisible, so that all of individuals troubles are prevented. Using the strip is not brain surgery, but it needs to be done cautiously or even the strip is going to be poorly aligned, or stay with itself and at least cause frustration. However the directions incorporated are refreshingly obvious and precise, if you follow them carefully, there will not be considered a problem. Apply half (up and down) from the strip towards the outdoors edge, gradually taking out the backing along the way, and then wrap another half round the fringe of the doorway. The doorway edge should be cleaned or it will not adhere correctly and whether it will it will trap the grime there. Both hands ought to be clean or even the grime in it may keep to the tape for those to determine. The strip is narrow--a good inch wide--and wraps round the door edge, therefore the part you will see in the outdoors is under one-half inch and (unlike individuals bumpers) almost invisible. To begin with, they are really 2 1 / 2 inch strips. So it only covers .25 inches on every side of the door edge. One for every door, should you have only 2 doorways. This really is really sufficient enough to supply the "edge" protection that you're searching for. the instructions are extremely obvious, simply clean both outdoors edge And also the inside fringe of you. Make certain your towel does not show anymore dirt following the 20th wiping!! When you are certain the advantage is clean, clean both hands!! otherwise your fingers can make the adhesive dirty and you've unsuccessful......So make sure your hands is clean too. This can be a 3 move process, outdoors>edge>inside. Now, when using the strip, start about 3 millimeters lower from the top edge so you are not touching the trim. Then, eyeball your strip to become about 50 % that you are signing up to the outdoors edge. One hands is going to be guiding and eyeballing the strip and another hands is going to be sliding to press the strip lower. I discovered it simpler to kinda slightly stretch the strip as I am guiding it in position, and it really works ideal for rounded corners too. Spend some time about this, therefore it will appear even. It'll most likely be more than you'll need, I needed to cut about 5 inches off. Then, you'll press in the edge part simply to seal it. Finally you will press the inside edge to seal it too (it's not necessary to be too picky about this part), and Voila! you're done! Great product, it just shows a bit, but will the job well. Best of luck everybody! Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us.
