Fabulous little tool! Very simple to use on my small dog without scaring him. The motor is quiet around the low speed, and a little louder on fast speed. I begin slow, then change to high-speed as he relaxes a little, to slow if he will get antsy. actually, trouble sleeping is a nice good sign you've gone as far lower around the nail out of the box reasonable to visit. My dog's nails are black, so it's super easy to trim too much, despite it. So trim a little, look into the tip from the nail, trim a little more if required. Just do not get crazy and start grinding away without checking how well you're progressing, Because, like traditional clippers, it is indeed possible to "quick" your pet (lead him to bleed) by nicking the end from the nail circulation system - I've not tried it yet, but Used to do compare once, so Yes, it can be done. This is correct despite utilisation of the nail guard. so, should you go slow and Use care, it is ingenious. I stress, use care -- if you over-trim (Quick) your pet, you might as well throw it away, because once linked with emotions . fear any tool, it's difficult to encourage them to allow you to apply it to them. However, in case you really want proper short nails, keep in mind that the vein naturally recedes having a shortened nail, and grows longer by having an untrimmed nail. So just trim a little every week, and that quick will begin to recede, and you will subsequently be capable of getting the nail shorter. anything you do, don't expect so that you can transform 1-inch nails to Westminster show length having a single trim, with this particular or any tool. Like anything, Only use some good sense.3 Comments 381 of 385 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... I grew to become acquainted with the Oster brand after i were built with a Persian cat and used their grooming tools on him for a long time. (Really, Before that, my grandma and grandpa used their grooming tools on their own Miniature Schnauzer... so we are speaking greater than 17 years back.)
Lately we adopted a little older dog - our first. I purchased a normal nail trimmer, and even despite my encounters with cutting animal nails for 25+ years, I still were able to cut the fast of her nails and make her bleed. so, to assist the two of us, I investigated electric/grinding pet nail trimmers. Obviously, I'd seen the greater "commercialized" pet nail trimmer marketed on television and within my local pet shop, but wavered a little about how exactly reliable it may be. According to my past encounters with Oster, I rationalized that I'd rather spend my $20+ on their own product compared to the greater "commercialized" manufacturer.
Obviously, I am really glad I chose to make this investment. Even initially look, the nail trimmer is durable and is absent of flimsy parts. Besides the primary coarse grinder, there are two separate grinder (for insufficient a much better term) "add-ons" that you could attach for any medium and fine grind. Furthermore, it arrives with single-year warranty.
my mother, that has 3 mastiffs, utilizes a regular $60+ dremel on her dog's nails. Essentially this Oster nail trimmer is a dremmel with a nail guard that has holes to accommodate 4 nail sizes (really Small, Small, Medium, large). You may choose to make use of the nail guard or otherwise, because it twists on and off. Personally i think confident utilizing it - I'm able to position my dog within my lap, withdraw the fur on her behalf paws, AND grind her nails all simultaneously. and, unlike my mother, I can use it when she's awake (not sleepy), since now I am not concerned about her moving her paw an excessive amount of.
I would suggest the product to our dog-owning buddies.2 Comments 139 of 141 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... We've four female dogs and these profoundly dislike getting claws filed or cut. One of these have been refusing to possess her nails trimmed or cut for too lengthy and her nails were getting really nasty. I was getting to the stage that people were starting to lose all hope that they would ever let's make a move to her nails. Once the Gentle Paws showed up, I began showing it to any or all four of these and attempting to convince them they would love it. Among the dogs is really a pure-bred Samoyed-- the kick-back girl-- and she was the first ones to approach and consider the tool. She permitted me to operate on a single of her nails and she was immediately rewarded having a slice of pork. Another three clearly adopted, and All but one permitted me to operate on their own nails for a while, just one hour following the Gentle Paws had showed up. (When they permitted me to operate around the nails, they'd be rewarded after some pork.) It is outstanding. It's safe for that dogs and, this really is what I most love about this, It's extremely fast. Our dogs are large dogs and a couple of them have very thick nails. However, using the Gentle Paws the task is performed easily, easily, securely and extremely fast. Becoming an OSTER, I understood it will be a top quality tool, but I didn't imagine it would be so good and that fast. like it! [Previously we once had a Dremel, but It didn't work with us and it had been not fast enough.] [I'm also amazed at how quickly the slices of pork convinced 3 from 4 dogs to exhibit just a little cooperation so soon. Good proof the tool isn't as annoying as our dogs need to make us think.] I recommend it!5 Comments 84 of 88 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
