BY P. Seow on September 4, 2013 Size: 16 GB company: Verizon Wireless Color: Black **KitKat & other software updates: please read towards the bottom of the review for a list of changes**
I upgraded from the Android RAZR which i owned for just two years and I've no regrets. Actually, I'm amazed because when smooth and responsive may be the new Android Small, additionally towards the image quality. Though it may be not really a 1080 display, at 4.3 inches, the 720 resolution of the TFT LCD display on the Droid Mini gives it 342 pixels per inch (PPI). It has more ppi than its bigger brothers (The MAXX and ultra) and the apple iphone 5! What this suggest would be that the display is extremely detailed and sharp. Although the contrast and brightness isn't as good being an AMOLED or IPS display, the white balance is more accurate (rather from the yellow-colored tint usual for Pentile OLED)
Compared to the other "mini" phones on the market (i.e. HTC One Small), it has the very best overall processing capacity and the biggest RAM. The Two GB RAM keeps the unit snappy even if you will find multiple apps running without anyone's knowledge. Though it has only a dual-core processor, it's among the fastest one available. Additionally, the quad-core graphics processor enables it to maintain greater-finish flagship phones when running leading edge games.
There are several awesome features which are unique towards the new Droids and Moto X: Active Notifications, Touchless Controls, and Quick capture. has since incorporated details about these functions within the description of product, so I'll provide supplemental details:
-Active Display: it really works with any application which has push-notifications for example Facebook Messenger.
-Touchless Controls: You are able to train the telephone to reply to "OK, Google" instead of "OK, Google Now." However, you will see more false/accidental activations. By Kyle on The month of january 19, 2014 Size: 16 GB company: Verizon Wireless Color: Black When the new line of Motorola handsets were announced (Android and Moto X) a lot of us including myself just did not appear very impressed. The brand new features were interesting but the specs just did not support the premium cost these were requesting. I type of just overlooked them, and continued and bought an LG G2. After I saw the brand new Motorola selection have been upgraded to 4.4 already it interested me, and I just read good quality reviews in it. I formerly were built with a Razr M, I loved the dimensions but it ran surprisingly sluggish, and so i searched for a Android Small for any good cost and snagged one up for any try.
Design - Should you used last year's Android Razr M you will not be terribly surprised at the Android Mini's build. It keeps exactly the same excellent design using its edge to edge display and narrowing lip at the base. The only real big change is that they added capacitive buttons at the base rather of getting onscreen buttons. I for just one welcome factor change, it leaves you wonderful your screen space, and Personally, i hit individuals buttons in error much less. The fabric is different, it's more all plastic now and less Kevlar/metal the other is. This takes away from our prime finish feeling a little but it does not feel below par whatsoever, and the Kevlar texture remains. Across the back her camera within the normal place, aside a decently large speaker that really way to avoid it performs my S4 or G2 that is downright baffling.
Performance - Like I stated at first, I had been disappointed to determine the low finish specs about this. All's will be able to have to say is Motorola has truly place a twist within the specs fight with a few fantastic software people. HTC and Samsung both released small versions of the flagships, however unlike them Motorola stored its flagship specs, which makes it the only real "premium" smaller sized device. By dgrus on December 9, 2013 Size: 16 GB company: Verizon Wireless Color: Black
I actually do such as this phone because it meets my fundamental needs of small size and Lightweight. I finally threw in the towel my original Android which i had for four years with this phone. I had been worried about going from the slide out keyboard for this but I've found will be able to type precisely without issue. I'll state that the sturdiness of the phone doesn't hold a candle to my last Android - I dropped it once and the corners cracked a significant amount of for that little bit of impact. I guess I will have to get a case for this (that we never revolved around my last Android) which somewhat defeats the objective of obtaining the smaller sized phone. I'll say that it's really fast and easy to use, the additional small things about this phone like seeing notifications without unlocking are added bonuses. The camera appears to be great - the pics look wonderful on the phone (I've not really printed any out and so i cannot attest to the particular pixel quality). The Disadvantages: I'm disappointed within the battery existence - it must be billed every evening and I personally use my phone minimally throughout the day. The seem quality for calls is fairly bad and I can't hear with the speaker phone (ignore while using speaker for hands-free for driving). The voice recognition feature is much less accurate than my last phone. also, I needed to return the very first Small I acquired since the casing squeaked so loud it distracted me on my small calls. The second I received was fine, until I dropped it and the casing squeaks uncontrollably. Since I have only owned the telephone for 2 several weeks, I'm very worried about the sturdiness and don't feel confident it'll last until my contract expires.Comment Was this review useful for you?
