The Timex Story
Timex Group B.V. is among the best-known American watch companies. Timex's U.s. headquarters come in Middlebury Connecticut and it's substantial operations in China, the Philippines and India and full scale sales companies in Canada, the United kingdom, France and Mexico.
The organization started in 1854 as Waterbury Clock in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, known throughout the nineteenth century because the "Europe of the usa." Sister company Waterbury Watch manufactured the very first affordable mechanical pocket watch in 1880. Throughout The First World War, Waterbury started making wristwatches, which in fact had only gain popularity, and in 1933 it made history by allowing the first Donald Duck clock under license from Wally Disney, with Mickey's hands pointing time.
Throughout The Second World War, Waterbury renamed itself U.s. Time Company. In 1950 the organization introduced a watch known as the Timex. Within the next 30 years, Timex was offered through a number of advertisements which emphasized its durability by putting the timepiece through "torture tests," for example falling within the Grand Coulee Dam or just being shackled by the propeller of the outboard motor, using the slogan "It requires a licking and continues ticking." With the aid of former Olympic broadcaster, spokesman John Cameron Swayze, sales required off. The organization later grew to become Timex Corporation, then Timex Group and, up to now, has offered more than one billion watches.
The organization has continued to be very competitive and the Timex brand continues its dominance through current day. Its primary market continues to be U . s . States and Canada, even though the Timex brand is offered worldwide because of its capability to take advantage of its strong brand image and status for quality.
probably the most effective and important features on many Timex watches may be the Indiglo backlight system. Indiglo is a name of Indiglo Corporation, exclusively of Timex for licensing purposes. Timex electroluminescent lamps, branded Indiglo, were introduced in 1992 within the Ironman watch line. These were an instantaneous success. The Indiglo lamp uniformly lights the top of Timex’s watch dials in a fashion that helps make the dial read effortlessly in several light settings. In certain newer watches the Indiglo backlight only illuminates the figures, as opposed to the entire Liquid crystal display, that is achieved using a specialized film that inverts the LCD transmissivity.
Today, Timex Group goods are produced in the China and in Europe frequently according to technology that is still coded in the U . s . States and in Germany. Having a large and varied type of watches, Timex has got the style for everybody. In the locker room towards the boardroom, there's an excellent Timex style time-piece for you personally.

*UPDATE 20 This summer See bottom* A lot better than the worldwide Trainer, but want to see some changes. By sg01fc on April 3, 2013 Color: Black/Orange
Allow me to begin by stating that I've had a number of different Gps navigation watches within the this past year for running. I'm pretty picky and will either sell or send back something that I do not like for some reason. so, I am likely to perform some evaluating between this and others I have used (Garmin 405/910/and Fenix, Timex Global Trainer, and the Motorola Motoactv). I am not extending its love to discuss the 405, since i did not like anything about this. I'll work in between your rest though.
Overall, I love this watch. Here is a introduction to different areas.
Screen: It features a far better screen compared to Global Trainer and the Fenix. The 910 is fairly good, but this screen continues to be better.
Size: Most likely the second best overall like a daily put on watch of individuals above. The very best will be the Fenix. really, though, the 910 and Motoactv mostly are niche watches that you'd simply want to put on if needed. The Worldwide Trainer is big when compared with this.
Gps navigation signal acquisition: Great. Most likely one of the better. I'd say that one is the greatest, compared to Motoactv, 910, Fenix, then Global Trainer.
Gps navigation precision: for me personally, the Motoactv appeared is the most accurate every time I used it. However, since I have only run with this particular two times, it's too soon to actually provide a good guess regarding its precision. Of these two runs, it's been virtually place up with others.
Now, I'll get a bit more specific with this particular watch. It is waterproof to 50 Meters (it states water-resistant around the watch, but the web site states waterproof). A great factor. The Motoactv isn't waterproof, and hardly water-resistant. However, it has stood up to many runs in the rain (Never removed the main harbour cover earphones). Needs additional development By Customer on May 5, 2013 Color: Black/Orange
I have used this for around 2 days now and must state that I am very dissapointed within this watch.
I had been excited to determine that Garmin were built with a competitor within this category and desired to such as the watch.
The great is that it is nice normal size and could be worn like a daily watch without people searching to you strange.
unhealthy and its a really big bad, would be that the Gps navigation function is inaccurate.
Following a couple of runs and bike workouts, I downloaded the files to the peak Peak training website only to discover that my start and stop location were in regards to a quarter mile off. I usually start and visit the house. It has happened four occasions from the dozen of occasions I have used this watch. The very first time it happened, I believed it was just cloudy or did not obtain a good lock but another occasions it had been sunny and Obvious and I'd an absolute lock. I have also downloaded the gps navigation files onto other sport training website to compare and the outcomes were exactly the same therefore the original gps navigation file is problematic. Maybe the kodak playtouch camcorder is problematic but I have faith that when you to produce product towards the market it better work properly.
So far as I am concerned whether it can't obtain the Gps navigation some of it right, then it is just an costly stopwatch.
The little memory size has additionally become tough to accept thinking about which i would need to delete a couple of workouts before it might save a brand new workout in order to download a brand new firmware file.
I have attempted the interval trainer mode and only getting 6 stages to have an interval is extremely restricting for me.
Your window about this appears to become a obvious acrylic material that we believe will scratch effortlessly in case your not careful. Read more › 4 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...

Required a little, but happy now By EMAZ on June 7, 2013 Color: Gray/Eco-friendly Before this watch I'd the Timex Ironman Bodylink Gps navigation. I hung about it for nearly five years since it was bulletproof. The disadvantage was that I needed to put on the Gps navigation on my small arm. I used to be searching for a while for any smaller sized, more integrated watch, and due to these positive experience was searching for any Timex. If this arrived on the scene I had been excited since it would be a smaller sized watch that offered a great deal. However, it did not begin good. (I purchased this from another store since i found it cheaper). The first I received was dead-on-arrival and so i sent it back. The second began out fine but then offered me a charger error. At this time I debated about trying again, but I loved the choices from the watch and what it really needed to offer so I decided to try once more. The 3rd one demonstrated up and labored the actual way it must have. I'm glad I tried one more time because I am very happy with it (I acquired the model using the heart rate monitor). I have had this watch out for just a little on the month now. Listed here are my pros and Cons:
- Overall appearance is nice (I went w/ the silver/eco-friendly). It's 'smaller' for any Gps navigation running watch that is a plus. Appears like an ordinary watch - smaller sized than most running watches available.
- The display is extremely obvious and you have the option of reversing the colors (whitened on black, Black on Whitened).
- Gps navigation appears to become accurate and after i get into a tunnel it provides us a warning inside a second or two which shows me it pings pretty consistently.
- Once connected the Gps navigation signal appears pretty strong.
- Stores up to 15 workouts
- Can upload to Training Peaks that has some nice stats/graphs and maps operate on Google Maps. Within your budget reasonably limited membership to obtain more graphs, but the disposable membership has mostly all you need. Read more › Comment Was this review useful for you?
