208 of 216 people found the following review helpful TomTom Multi-Sport Cardio vs Gamin 910XT
By Andy-X on This summer 24, 2014 Style Name: Cardio Multi-Sport Package Type: Standard Packaging Color: Black
Initial impression:
Before I got myself this watch, I observed several mixed reviews, and so i would be a little reluctant. After 2 days, 10 runs and several walks, and a direct comparison (Side-by-side) with Garmin Forerunner 910XT with heart monitor (that we own in excess of 24 months) they are my primary impressions:
1. TomTom clearly accumulates the Gps navigation signal faster, sometimes 1 minute before Garmin (usually around 15-30s).
champion: tomtom.
2. GARMIN and Tomtom give quite similar running distances by having an error of <5% together. However it appears that Garmin has a tendency to overestimate running distances after i do a comparison with Google Maps and other map systems. For instance, in all certified marathons I ran (>10 a minimum of), Garmin always overestimated the distance (as much as 5%). so, TomTom appears more conservative in connection with this.
champion: tomtom.
3. hr. Garmin gives fairly stable readings with time that match perfectly your perceived effort. I rarely see spikes or any other aberrant readings using the HR strap. In comparison, TomTom tends to give occasional anomalous non-sense readings (greater than expected). In 2 occasions the HR froze and afterwards returned. They are available and go and I've not observed any sort of pattern to date. However, I observed something interesting. at first, I had been putting on the keep an eye on my left wrist. After I altered it to my right wrist, these anomalous readings decreased dramatically and the general studying now's pretty decent, matching perfectly my perceived effort. likely, the neighborhood vascular anatomy of the wrist region is really a main factor. If you're unhappy using the watch, check it out within the other hands, move it around, ETC. Assistance. Read more › 5 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Browse the reviews on DCRainmakers site to determine posts from others concentrating on the same complaints.
On six total runs, the hrm only labored two times. Heartbeat monitoring was working until I'd start sweating...usually mile 2-3, after which it might cease working. It sometimes will come when I repositioned/easily wiped the sweat away, but it always did not. I truly wanted this watch to operate. The thought of not getting to put on a chest HR strap is excellent, but this watch is not the solution. Possibly a firmware/software update is going to be released to repair the HR problems, but for now, avoid this watch.
I contacted TomTom's support page and got no response after 2 days. A wrist watch that does not act as marketed and deficiencies in support equals me coming back this watch and choosing another proven brand. Tell me whenever you exercise the bugs since i want this to operate.
(And TomTom, don't let me know it's my fault. I have attempted within my wrist, the outside of my wrist (on arms), over-tightening, under-tightening, multiple-repositioning from the watch and still it does not work for a whole run).17 Comments Was this review useful for you? By Explorer on October 5, 2014 Style Name: Cardio Multi-Sport Bundle Package Type: Standard Packaging Color: Black I purchased a TomTom MultiSport Cardio Performance Bundle to check side-by-affiliate with my Garmin Forerunner 620. In the last two days, Used to do several 10K runs inside and outdoors with watches on.
Fundamental essentials popular features of my comparison:
All of the functions from the TomTom Cardio labored just like marketed. This incorporated all of the in-watch workout functionality, Bluetooth Smart reference to my Android smartphone and synchronization with 3rd party apps. The timepiece looked great and fit on my small wrist perfectly. It's a pleasure to operate without sensors like straps and footpods.
The built-in HRM produces almost identical HR stats towards the Garmin using the HRM strap. I wasn't in a position to identify any deviations within the HR graphs. This can be a obvious benefit of the TomTom.
I discovered that on a number of my trail runs, the TomTom's Gps navigation tracks were nearer to the path compared to FR620 - not by much but noticeable around the satellite maps whenever you focus. Perhaps the strap mounted GPS sensor of the TomTom (which, because of its position around the strap, is definitely facing upwards for the sky when you're running) Versus the FR620's Gps navigation sensor mounted underneath the LCD, is much more sensitive/effective. If that's actually the main reason, kudos towards the design engineers of TomTom.
If found the TomTom's Treadmill function to be better than the FR620 because the Accelerometer calibration is manually adjustable (after each treadmill run) around the TomTom where because it is purely instantly calibrated around the FR620. several occasions, I did long (4 hour+) hikes where my strides and pedal rotation were not the same as my runs. By Kat on June 3, 2014 Style Name: Cardio Runner Package Type: Standard Packaging Color: Black
Update (November 10, 2014): well. The website still does not work correctly. It keeps erroring out as before, and I must reset the account on the nearly weekly basis. I have honestly quit trying. The timepiece itself has additionally had some firmware updates making it under desirable now.
1. Gps navigation acquisition is not a 30 second factor. It requires a good 5 minutes for that watch to find itself out and I must remain perfectly still during this time period or it thinks I'm "warming up".
2. It freaks out if me rate covers a particular zone. Because of the mysports site being a bit of junk, the timepiece still thinks I am a 5'11" male who weighs 160lbs. so, it freaks out and informs me I am likely to die if me rate exceeds what an individual of this size/weight ought to be applying. well, heart minute rates are different for any 4'11", 105lb female. Sorry, tomtom.
3. The "push-3-seconds-to-pause" feature no more exists. Therefore, basically accidentally bump the timepiece buttons, the run pauses. Imagine my irritation after i found this latest "perk" in the finish of the 10 mile run once the watch was bumped around mile 2 when staying away from some walkers within the brush. lovely.
so, Knowing that...I have updated the watch's review. Basically might get reimbursement about this factor, i'd. I am just wishing to flip it and obtain a cheap garmin and a Window's band. With Fitbit releasing heart-rate and Gps navigation worthy products early the coming year, this clunky POS is not well worth the time or even the money.
****Old review****
so, I am not likely to bore you using the details that you could read so adeptly discussed by more amazing folk like dcrainmaker. If you would like an indepth overview of this badboy, go read his stuff.
