Product Description

Monoprice delivers an inexpensive solution for adapting your Small-DisplayPort or Thunderbolt outfitted computer for your display with DVI input.
This adaptor supports single-link, video resolutions as much as 1920x1200. Analog signals aren't supported, which means this won't allow conversion to some VGA signal. This can be a passive adaptor and thus isn't suited to Eyefinity configurations. As this adaptor converts to some DVI signal, it doesn't support audio.
Note: This can be a unidirectional adaptor. It can't be employed to convert DVI to mDP or Thunderbolt.

works great with new iMac
By Gary Hanson on The month of january 13, 2012
I purchased a brand new imac desktop with ThunderPort connections and this is effective to include my old monitor with DVI. And $20 dollars less expensive than the Apple Store.Comment 5 of 5 people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Devin Computers LLC on August 5, 2011 I have had this adaptor from monoprice for around 24 months and love it 1/3 of the price of the apple branded product with the same qualityComment 3 of three people found this useful. It's by Monoprice, It is rather simple, it really works. If you want one, just purchase it. there is no problems whatsoever, only a simple wire for connecting.Comment 3 of three people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? By Doylez on June 19, 2013
before I acquired that one, I purchased one from Best To Buy which labored flawlessly but that certain was around $30. you receive what you have to pay for. That one from Monoprice does not actually work unless of course you are holding the plugs along with your hands and applying just a little pressure in some way. There has to be a loose connection around the terminals somewhere.Comment 2 of two people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Daniel Craig on June 12, 2013
I personally don't like to consider the forced labor that creates these items, but my God does Monoprice have cheap cables that typically work. Sorry Apple, I am likely to give Monoprice 1/4 of what you are asking for the similar freaking adapter.Comment 2 of two people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? The adapter worked fine for a couple weeks until it didn't work at all (and also the failure came just outdoors the return window, Grrr...). I only used mtss is a couple occasions each week, therefore it did not die from overuse. It is simply cheap.1 Comment 3 of four people found this useful. Was this review useful for you? Hey, It is simply an adapter, therefore it either works or it does not. That one does. wonderfully. Works on an ancient MacBook (CA. 2007); works on a brand-new MacBook Pro (13", non-retina).
It is not as pretty because the "official" Apple adapter it is a bit longer, heavier and less rounded in the corners. Large deal! Go ahead and take greater than $21.00 you will save and smile.
If you have never worked with Monoprice before, they provide a treasure chest of cables, plugs, switches, ETC. at very attractive prices. I have used their goods frequently and with positive results to help keep high-quality older audio / video equipment alive and well and working with newer digital gear. If you feel you cannot make that also-fine old amp use the most recent whiz-bang digi-whatsit, try Monoport -- they've got plugs and cables for apparently everything.Comment Was this review useful for you?
