BY P. MSakamoto TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE on November 29, 2010 Package Type: Standard Packaging Vine Customer Review of Free Product 28 of 37 people found this review helpful Summary
The Woodees VOIPAD35 is an extremely nicely built "Y" adapter for channeling a four conductor 3.5mm small audio plug from the mobile phone mind set to some PC or laptop which has a low-level Mic input and a headphone output which are also 3.5mm small audio. The product seems to become well-built, is great searching and can be useful for systems that suit the above mentioned description. It claims to get results for Mac laptops, and case not the case without adding a microphone pre-amplifier. You shouldn't be fooled through the packaging claims - the kodak playtouch camcorder won't replace the requirement for a USB or any other powered headset for Mac users. It might possess some utility for PC users, but you'll find cheaper solutions on ebay.
Claims which are either overstated or plain wrong:
* The packaging claims it adapts "Smartphone Headset to Mac or pc". This really is only true for smartphones with 3.5mm (1/8") plugs. Newer and more effective phones have a micro audio plug that's not big enough for that Woodees female plug. The requirement of a 3.5mm plug is hidden within the text around the packaging. truth is, there are plenty of oldsters who don't be aware of difference and this problem ought to be more clearly mentioned.
* The merchandise doesn't adapt the microphone of the smartphone headset to some Mac pc. For a while, Mac pc laptops haven't supported a non-powered microphone input. The input that many mistake for a mic input on the Mac is actually a "line" input that requires significantly more input signal level than a passive (Non-powered) microphone delivers. Or no individuals using the product think you are receiving results using the microphone, you're mistaken. What's happening is the fact that seem is originating in through the built-in mic around the Mac, and not the headset microphone. Read more › 4 Comments Was this review useful for you? By freddy on October 8, 2011 Package Type: Standard Packaging 7 of 8 people found this review useful I purchased those to work along with my Etymotic ER23-HF3-BLACK HF3 In-Ear Headsetwith 3-Button Handheld Remote Control for ipod device, Apple iphone, iPad (black) on my Windows PC (with Realtek audio on the Biostar motherboard). I am unsure what The issue is, it might have something related to the three button remote around the headset, but the mic has yet to ever catch my voice, regardless of how much its boosted. It transmits a loud clicking noise with the mic funnel after i press the buttons, but this is actually the only time i'm able to have any response from it whatsoever.to explain, yes i had been plugging it in to the pink Mic-in port and and not the Line-in. Very disappointed.7 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. 3 of three people found this review useful The greatest problem I've using these Y adapters and other headsets with 2 pins is it is tough to find out what is headphone and that is microphone. A number of manufacturers use a few strategies - color or elevated/embossed icon for headphone or mic quietly. That one is really a faint marking that needs a great lighting you cannot write out in semi-dark or at nights.
Woodees must have colored them individually, or added different elevated bands around the pins or perhaps embossed/elevated icons quietly it's a big oversight on their own part. And that is the only real reason I'm giving a 3 start with this rather of the 5.
Around the positive side, it is very well made (will most likely continue for another 2 notebook cycles for me personally), and top quality audio/signals.Comment Was this review useful for you? 4 of 5 people found this review useful To begin with, in a most fundamental level, this adapter works best for me. But it is only focusing on my Home windows machines, this is not on my iMacs. it's frustrating but the iMacs would be to blame. iMacs work fine with TRRS (4-contact) headsets out of the box, so there is no requirement for this adapter.
The larger problem is how incredibly thin the wires are. While this is the most 'professional' looking headset to mic/phones splitter I could find (no garish, lego-y pink/eco-friendly connectors), its wires are extremely thin I am afraid to make use of this with any kind of portable device in which the wires might have put on and tear.
The connectors are very nice and it works on my Windows machines (mostly laptops), but it does not focus on my iMacs and I'm afraid for that durability of the device on portables because of the incredibly thin wires. I will be searching to buy another splitter, and sometimes it means enduring pink/eco-friendly connectors.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By WALDO812 on December 11, 2010 Package Type: Standard Packaging Vine Customer Review of Free Product 3 of four people found this review useful More recognized for their type of wood-bodied earphones, Woodees released the Voice over internet protocol Y adapter. to begin with, unlike their signature earphones there's simply no wood within this product. It is also the only real accessory aside from the usual selection of earphones within their inventory.
From the package, This 3.5mm audio plug has average cable versatility and good tight fittings. The product's photographs on the packaging and websites is misleading. The markings are nearly unreadable. The maker loses points for that white-colored on silver gently etched microphone and earphone labeling. Sight impaired buyers may decide to find another alternative.
Let's focus on the exam. I connected the Y adapter to both my laptop and work desktop computer utilizing a Plantronics mind/mic set. Link with both would be a nice tight fit with no issues. I'd not a problem taking out the adapter either. My conversations via Google Voice were consistently crisp and with no distortion.
following a couple of days use, I have arrived at such as the Woodees Voice over internet protocol Adapter. Except for the labeling, its a great no frills, no thrills working tool. For me personally it covers the fundamentals.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us.
