Extra Boundary Wire for a Larger Containment Area
By Customer on This summer 2, 2008 18 of 19 people found this review useful This is actually the PetSafe brand boundary wire to make bigger containment areas or mending damaged wire. This package has a 500 foot spool of 20 gauge solid copper wire and 50 Boundary Flags. You should space the flags at 10' times throughout the workout sessions. You remove almost every other flag in the finish from the training program during a period of 8 days to accomplish working out.The dog now responds to the auditory cues from the receiver (Collar) and does not need the visual cues in the flags.
A 500 foot. spool is suppose to surround as much as 1/3 of the acre. You might finish up using more wire for special areas. Places where you need the wire to cancel itself out, you twist the outgoing and incoming wires together inside a braid to ensure they are cancel the signal. Or if you're not creating a complete square containment area you'll have to operate a double loop. That is to run the wire along let us say 3 sides of the square and then keeping the wire at least 3'-5' away from itself run the wire back along the same path to the transmitter (Master Unit). In this way you are able to contain a place that does not contain four side. Like say for example you've land that backs up to and including lake and you want to not operate a fence across the water. You'd produce a double loop to complete that. The double loop would look something similar to an overview from the letter C or U for instance.
Based on the reference charts from PetSafe, for any: 1/4 acre you'll need 415 foot of wire 1/3 acre = 480 foot 1/2 acre = 590 foot 1 acre = 835 foot 2 acre = 1180 foot 5 acre = 1870 foot 10 acre = 2800 foot 20 acre = 3750 foot 30 acre = 4600 foot 40 acre = 5330 foot 50 acre = 5900 foot 60 acre = 6500 foot 70 acre = 7000 foot 80 acre = 7500 foot 90 acre = 8000 foot 100 acre = 8350 foot. 6 of 6 people found this review useful My 14lbs terrior mix includes a mind of her very own. Try once we did, she'd not remain in the yard, and we live in the united states inside a gated community, and fences are frowned upon. We survive a river, and the deer are thick here...plenty of distractions for any little dog. Lengthy story short, she got the concept concerning the flags to be the limit, but using the collar focused on the 2nd setting, she wasn't frustrated from just running with the boundry. Reset the collar towards the third position, and after one further run beyond the boundry, she learned that she really loves remaining from individuals flags. I shocked myself before I attempted it on her behalf, and it's just like a static discharge from shuffling your ft on the carpet. We're within the third week of coaching, and I truly feel at ease letting her run outdoors without anxiety about her running away. Considered is the fact that other dogs don't have any problem entering my yard, to allow them to be a menace to my little dog. It required me a couple of hrs to set up the machine. I place the control box within the attic room to help keep it from the weather, and just ran the wire behind a gutter lower spout, down. I actually do possess a split rail fence around a part of my yard, and just stapled the wire to the foot of the low rail. I'd buy the product again. If my single minded dog learned, any dog can. Even my spouse, who thought it was similar to animal torture, is satisfied we've this installed.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... by J.b. On Feb 8, 2008 6 of 6 people found this review useful I got myself the merchandise and it really works great with one exception. My dog has determined when he will get a run in internet marketing, he is able to overcome the wire without an excessive amount of 'shock' to themself. I needed to boost the width from the boundary area around the receiver to cope with this and it works perfectly. I would suggest it.Comment Was this review useful for you? By Garden Woman on March 24, 2010 3 of three people found this review useful I really like my fence! Super easy to install . . . I installed it on my own on 1/2 acre within an mid-day. Don't pull it too tight. Quite simple to coach! Take time to do that and You will be glad you probably did. Should you short-work, you'll have wasted your hard earned money. I'd an very persistent lab which i contained by using it. You should get just a little "creative" most abundant in persistent. In a vet's suggestion, I place the collar round his middle around the second towards the cheapest setting & progressively elevated it as being needed. Once he was zapped a few occasions, he was all set! Purchase the road break locator for future years. It'll make coming up with any breaks very simple and Save considerable time. Basically ever move, this is my first house!!!Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. 3 of four people found this review useful Mine is familiar with to operate fast with the fencing to prevent the extended zap. I've it around the greatest zap setting, have trained him correctly and there are several days where he will get through and others where he will not come through regardless of what the enticement. I am to where you started using the training again. My other dog doesn't have problem following directions and remaining inside the fence.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? 1 of just one people found this review useful We like the machine but don't use this wire. Ours only lasted 22 several weeks. Buy 14 gauge strand wire at home Depot. it needs time to work and choose to bury this wire so the upgrade from the beginning and You will not be sorry. The package includes 20 gauge solid and for all of us it demonstrated too fragile.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... 2 of three people found this review useful The wire is extremely light guage and broke frequently. I finished up discarding this cheapo antenna wire and replacing it with 14ga solid core, obtainable in 500' rolls in the local home center for any reasonable cost. No problems since!Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us.
