I'll be coming back my order of those bags. I have ample consider your experience with mylar bags, previously I've always used the five or 7 mil bags since they're much more powerful. These bags are 3.5 mil (I have not used 3.5 mil bags before), and are so thin that you can see right through them (when supporting to light). I'm able to really browse the words on my small monitor when searching through one for reds of the bag. No chance using the 5 mil bags. If the food you're storing is sensitive to light (like dry milk) these bags won't safeguard it. Most all foods are affected by light (referred to as photodegradation) and consequently can impact flavor, color & vitamin loss. So for optimum shelf existence, more dark is much better. They also had a very strong chemical smell inside them (smells the same as super glue), and I have never observed this smell along with other bags. I really grew to become nauseous after smelling the bag a couple of occasions, attempting to remember what that very familiar smell was. I'm not sure if this sounds like OK or otherwise, but after while using more costly, higher quality bags previously, I believe I'll spend the additional money and be assured.
I bought these to make smaller kits of food (like MRE's) however are so thin, I wouldn't have confidence in them within my pack or on the path- these would puncture or tear easily.
These bags are cheap enough, but you receive what you have to pay for. I would suggest 5 or 7 mil bags. Regrettably I am unable to find many 5 mil bags on within the 1 gallon size however I'll be ordering again from USAEmergencySupply us dot com that has the very best product and even the best money saving deals I've discovered any place in my MANY searches over the internet. i really like but it isn't always the best choice.Comment Was this review useful for you? These are simple to use. Just fill together with your product, departing space for any seal. Toss in an oxygen absorber, lay across a fishing rod and iron all but a couple of", place your crevice attachment around the vacuum and place it within the hole you left. vacuum the air, Take out the hose and seal rapidly. Is most effective if you don't overfill the baggage. This can keep for any very lengthy time.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... They are as described and packed well. they are simple to use and big enough for bulky products. You have to be careful of what is kept in them because for me they aren't heavy enough to keep light sensitive foods. We utilize them for grain and beans that's been sealed in seal-a-meal bags by having an oxygen absorber then put into a mylar bag before storing. they get the job done.Comment Was this review useful for you? I got myself these bags too and often see through as pointed out in another review, I opened up them and held one for reds to the vibrant bulb on my small chandelier and often see through them. Nevertheless, you have really find it difficult to begin to see the light through them and if you work with them for food storage you're most likely keeping them inside another container just like a bucket etc. Basically were keeping them on the shelf within the direct light of the window, I'd get worried. otherwise NOT.
Nor was there any odor apart from what faint odor mylar comes with. I loved these greatly and These were shipped rapidly and securely. I would suggest those to my loved ones and buddies.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. By wolf_phantasy on The month of january 26, 2014
The directions condition to utilize a hot iron to close. I made use of the meals saver. Basically seal it 2-4 occasions consecutively, it'll seal the bag. The bag is thinner, but I made use of it for food gifts for Christmas, not lengthy term food storage. I've plenty left for a number of other projects and storage solutions.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
