SP2209HJ - The Next Generation
By Gail Rhea on This summer 24, 2009 Color: Grey I am am thrilled to set of generation x from the 2 AA Small Maglite Brought flash light. Mine is grey, model #SP2209HJ.
In which the older type of the Small Maglite Brought includes a bigger mind compared to incandescent version and no hole around the tail cap to connect a lanyard, with generation x Small Maglite Brought, we have seen the return from the smaller sized mind therefore the rubber rim for that face cap fits along with the lenses from the accessories pack. The opening to connect a lanyard is during the tail cap.
Its dimensions are 1/2" more than the incandescent version.
The holster still does not possess the Velcro flap and is really a tighter fit than my Velcro-flapped holster, but Then, that applies to the present incandescent Small Maglite's holster, too. I suppose Mag altered the look to reduce production costs.
Even though the corona is not as vibrant or as white-colored because the 80 lumens Duracell Daylite 2 AA Brought flash light which i purchased at Walmart for $5 more simultaneously, the hotspot is better and the general diameter from the beam is broader compared to Daylite's. I love the Small Maglite Brought far better, not just since the beam is broader, but also since it weighs less, is narrower and shorter, and does not possess a push-button around the tail cap.
I am Extremely pleased using the Small Maglite Brought since it has settings for 100% power, 25% power, Blink, and SOS that's certainly great for signaling for help whether with a lost walker or perhaps a survivor of the natural disaster or any other emergency situation. Just twist as always to show on, then twist off & on again to sequence to another modes.
What that gives individuals preferring among the tail cap push button modifications, I'm not sure. I favor to twist it and can perform it easily with one hands. By Leon W. Blocker on October 17, 2006 Color: Grey I've the two cell AA Brought Small Maglite, and I really like it. But let us obvious up some misconceptions about what this little jewel is and is not. at nighttime, This can be a vibrant, capable flash light that illuminates a large area. Unlike Maglites you enables you to, the beam can't be focused. Yes, should you point it for the ground at the ft, you can observe the beam converge. At five yards out, it does not really matter, this is an area light regardless of what.
If you're searching for any solid area light that does not find a large amount of room and has lengthy-lasting battery existence - wait forget about, here's your flash light! Go purchase it at this time.
If you're searching for something to exchange a Guaranteed or StreamLight, Keep searching. This flash light just is not within the same league of brightness. Yes, It's rough and Tough and for any small flash light it's very vibrant for close tasks. If you're searching to illuminate chunks of property during the night, then you're best having a Guaranteed.
A few words of warning relating to this light when compared to "regular" halogen - it's a bigger flash light. Across it's the same, but long it's about 1 inch longer. Because the Brought should be indestructible, there's no spare within the cap.
I carry this on my small belt using the incorporated holster, though I pray to God Maglite awakens and provides for us a holster that LOCKS closed. Wouldn't it kill ya to provide us six inches of nylon and velcro to carry the fortunate factor in position, Maglite?
BOTTOM LINE : a good, dependable light that's good for small areas or enclosed spaces. in the end, it's a Maglite. Only six inches of material and velcro keeps this from to be the best Brought flash light for just about any amount of cash.3 Comments 138 of 145 people found this useful. By Orchid_Malevolence on September 29, 2006 Color: Black I'll admit, I really like Brought flashlights - the pure, whitened light, the extended battery existence, the appearance around the faces of my buddies once they point the flash light to their eyes upon examination... then when I just read that Mag had released an Brought flash light, I immediately went in search of one, and I am finding that it is a mixed bag.
From the quality perspective, Mag still constitutes a solid product. The barrel and mind are manufactured from aluminum, rubber washers can be used for a water-resistant seal, and they are able to take being delivered a work bench. One factor I am wondering why they overlooked, However, would be a hook for any lanyard - the underside cap of the flash light is flat.
Among the primary things the Mag has opting for it over other Brought flash light designs however would be that the beam could be focused - and it's because the much deeper reflector design and the form from the Brought. Focusing the beam increases its intensity - a little, but nothing beats that old incandescent Mag lites - I discovered myself utilizing it about midway between just on and fully focused, because it demonstrated probably the most practical.
Now though, for that disappointing part: I own a 1-watt Luxeon-based LED flashlight (that cost roughly identical to the Mag), and a 5-watt LED flashlight from SureFire (which cost... significantly more). The Luxeon Brought creates roughly 20 lumens, and the Guaranteed creates a blinding 100 lumens, so at 3-watts, it might be safe to visualize this Mag Lite could be about midway backward and forward, right? Wrong. The beam is about the same intensity as the 1-watt Luxeon (that is pretty vibrant alone)very slightly better when completely focused, but then your Luxeon spreads its light more easily compared to Mag.
