By vladio on August 15, 2010
I got myself these shocks for the 2001 Chrysler T & C that people use to tow a 3400lb appear camper. First, they are for any dodge/chrysler small van without self leveling shocks in the factory. Our van has all of the towing add-ons but doesn't have the self-modifying rear shocks. The brand new camper we bought has 300lb tongue weight whereas our old camper only had 150lb. It was an excessive amount of for that production and so i bought this package and been with them installed in a tire garage. I bunch the van with bikes, luggage... adding 120lbs of pressure towards the shocks. The trunk finish increases up and the suspension will get stiff. I connect the camper and there is no bottoming out or sag. A great fix to the van for towing. I recommend this package for towing or hauling heavy loads. Just make certain you've standard rear shocks and not self leveling.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. By Timmaay!! on April 18, 2012
I put these on the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country Touring. They continued effortlessly. I only needed to raise the vehicle and take away the rear wheel. The only real small complication was which i could not extend the shocks by hand. I simply connected the environment lines and inflated all of them with a little compressor to obtain them extended, and then allow the air out before installing around the vehicle. 75 psi will get the rear of the van nice and level for towing. I suggest them for those much like me who tow having a Chrysler minivan.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. By Doug Pug on May 30, 2010
I possess a 2000 Town and Country Limited with lengthy wheel base....... My original FACTORY shocks were built with a wide knuckle at top and bottom. at the very top, a large knuckle stored shock from contacting chassis rails.. These Gabriel shocks DO NOT have a wide knuckle !!!! I attempted using spacer bushings but the bolts wound up getting loose, and snapping as i drove !! Plus, i kept losing air pressure !! I have no idea if other Town and Country vans have smaller sized knuckle shocks but these aren't for that "Limited" model without a doubt...
They have to ask additional information about specific kinds of cars or vans BEFORE they are saying "THIS WILL Match Your Vehicle"... In my case IT DID NOT ! I acquired exactly the same model saying it might fit my ride from the Gabriel shock website,.. so, this isn't s fault.. It is Gabriel's AND bad data !!
Should you possess a 2000 T+C van "limited" review your shocks first... When the secure knuckle is wider than 2 ", these Gabriel shocks ARE NOT for you !!!1 Comment Was this review useful for you? By Customer on This summer 22, 2013
PROS
super easy to set up, hose is stiff but simple to install also.
Held our VAN much greater and a lot more stable when needed, release air if not.
Pumps track of hardly any air, a bike pump is plenty
Very affordable when compared with other units.
Even if gently aired really increases handling nicely. Noticable difference.
CONS
When gently loaded you are able to sometimes hear the shocks bump sometimes. It is not much but I have noticed it sometimes
not one other cons,
work just as marketed, Affordable, extremely effective, and create a heavily loaded vehicle much safer on the highway.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Keith McCulloh on November 8, 2014
i'm able to let them know for thus good. easy installation 1.5 hrs had both shocks on and air lines run. the black clips with new 1/4 drill bit made running the environment lines super easy. i'm not a machanic i'm that diy guy. i'm a dj that carry's lots of equipment inside a small van needed something to assist the leaf springs a dip within the road you can have the small van bottom out this appears to become working find. o another great thing about this happens when the van isn't packed with the environment set at 35 to 45lbs rides much like it did with stock shocks. thank you Gabriel shocksComment Was this review useful for you? By Big Mikey on June 11, 2014 I have adopted all instructions. washed and re-connected all connections but Regardless of what, this stuff will not stop dripping. Probably the most I'm able to get free from a lot of air is all about half an hour of all time lower to zero PSI. I attempted to isolate the leak using windex as directed by their website but there aren't any visible indications of bubbling.
I suppose you receive what you have to pay for. Waste though.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback.
