18 of 18 people found the following review helpful safe, sturdy, and Versatile! By Terra516 on March 12, 2014 Bought this to hold a small double-dome lighting fixture above my bearded dragon tank. I really like because you may change the peak, making it a cinch to provide the appropriate distance (~6") between my beardie and his light so he can't accidentally roast themself. It is also great having the ability to open the sliding screen top without getting to awkwardly deal with the sunshine fixture sitting on the top from it. Now I haven't got to maneuver or be worried about the sunshine whatsoever when I am feeding, place washing the cage, ETC. But possibly my personal favorite factor of relating to this stand may be the reassurance in understanding that my heating lamp has become protected from being accidentally knocked over by my cats as i am away from home. The feet from the stand sits beneath the tank, making the dwelling very sturdy and hard to tip. The wire clips allow you to tuck an electric cord from the stand, which makes it less dangly and less tempting to cats. My only complaint would be that the clips are just large enough to carry one cord, and not the two cords from my double dome fixture (heat + UVB). But almost all an issue... I simply used the twisty ties that arrived the packaging to assist provide additional peace of mind in attaching the 2nd cord towards the stand. Great product... Would certainly recommend to other people, especially individuals with cats or young children who're worried about heat lamp safety/accidental tipping.Comment Was this review useful for you? She lives happily inside a 20 gallon lengthy tank and this little gizmo helps me regulate the tanks temperature without having to buy those fancy (and often costly) outlet rheostats. VERY simple to use clamp and slides right underneath the tank. Worth the cost both in quality and assurance that the little friend gets a good device. I am likely to purchase two more in my baby Corn Snakes. It also has hooks to assist run the lamp's cable lower from the frame from the stand, rather of allowing it to dangle. Pros: Solid construction fairly decent metal adjustable easy to use hook to help run the cable cheap price Fits Perfectly! Cons: None!Comment Was this review useful for you? It is extremely helpful for positioning a heat lamp or Ultra violet bulb. It's clearly created for the hook-on kind of lamp. However, I only had clamp-on ones. I personally use it having a clamp-on by putting the loop from the clamp spring within the hook, then clamping the lamp to the peak bar. I additionally make use of a second small clamp to make certain the loop can't slide free. it's not hard to adjust the peak, orientation and entire top bar, so that you can virtually aim the sunshine precisely where you would like it. The knob for that height adjustment originates loose on mine-I believe that previously some strong person tightened it a significant amount of. And So I need pliers to alter the peak, but I haven't got to achieve that frequently and it isn't an issue. The Caution: for the way it's adjusted, the stand could be somewhat tipsy. Utilizing it having a clamp lamp could make it much more, but the size of the very best arm also plays a component. Maybe many people set these up so the flat is made of beneath the tank, that is most likely ideal, but I must move mine around sometimes. And So I make certain to create some flat rocks or anything else heavy around the base.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... You don't have to make use of any instructions to assemble it. The feet goes beneath your enclosure to weigh it lower. Then just adjust the lamp towards the proper hight. I submitted two images showing which i used the clamp from the fixtures as opposed to the wire. Relax and take a moment to check out them. You are able to squeeze lamp in other angles then vertical. I really like it since i can open the top of the my tank without disturbing my bulbs. This will be significant if you work with a mercury vapor bulb. The existence from the bulb is shortened whenever you move it even though it is on or warm. Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... I made use of a thermometer to see the high temperature within my cage and adjusted the peak and can have great control in order to not overheat the terrarium, meanwhile modifying the peak was as easy as unscrewing the hands screw, pulling the stand just a little greater, and re-tightening the screw. Since that time, it's locked in place perfectly. I've read reviews here stating it had become hard to balance and/or perhaps is tipsy. If you are using this lamp stand because it is designed, I am unable to imagine how this is a problem. The lamp stand includes a wide, flat base that is supposed to slide beneath your terrarium. The objective of this really is to anchor the stand and not let it tip. In addition to that, as lengthy as you are not utilizing an abnormally heavy lamp, I do not anticipate people getting issues. I have tried personally just one dome lamp in addition to a dual-bulb lamp and both were based on this stand without any issues. I additionally understand the small hooks around the stand that enables for cord management for any sleek appearance.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
