By R & R on September 29, 2012 size: 2.1cm Screen Package Type: Standard Packaging Color: Eco-friendly/White-colored Before watch came to the market, I'd checked out other Gps navigation watches every so often, but they often appeared too largeOrcumbersome and costly. This is actually the first moderately priced Gps navigation watch using the features I had been searching for. I've been utilizing it for 7 days and am pleased to state that it operates as marketed. It's lightweight, not very bulky, and starts/stops using the push of 1 button. The primary face is preset to show run time and Total Distance, but you are able to toggle to some second screen to visit your pace. The timepiece notifies you while you complete each mile, and displays your average pace for that mile along with your average pace in the finish of the run. You may also set the timepiece for run/walk times, or make use of the "virtual pacer" to inform you if you're running slower or quicker than your preferred pace.
Battery existence can be a major problem if you wish to make use of the watch outdoors of running, but I've used just it during runs, and recharged while connecting to Garmin's web site to download my run stats, therefore it has not been a problem for me personally. If you're searching for any fundamental Gps navigation watch that tracks what lengths and How quickly, a great choice! Note that it'll not monitor your heartbeat, therefore if which include is essential for you, you need to like in a greater finish version.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? By Teddy Johnson on October 16, 2012 size: 2.5cm Screen Package Type: Standard Packaging Color: Black/Red Things I want from the running watch is fairly simple. I would like a wrist watch that shows me time, distance, and Pace, in reasonably big font will be able to read while running. I would like decent battery existence, so I haven't got to charge each and every run. I would like a wrist watch that does not cause me to feel watch for a few minutes although it searches for satellites. And That I desire a watch that appears and seems like a wrist watch as opposed to a small computer shackled by my arm.
For a long time, I have run using the Forerunner 305. It's a product I enjoy hate. It really works well, and in ways it has been indispensable in my experience like a runner, but it's also a bit deficient in virtually every respect pointed out above.
I have considered purchasing a new Garmin, like the 410, but always made the decision to not after studying reviews. Then when I learned about the ten, I had been thrilled. Finally, Garmin had figured it.
I have been with them now a couple of days. The timepiece is a huge improvement, but additionally, it remains deficient in certain critical respects. Actually, sadly, I don't know I'll ensure that it stays.
It's small. it appears and feels infinitely much better than the 305. The display is readable. Big font means I can tell and see clearly in a quick glance. The buttons are simple to find. the interface is straightforward and intuitive, which makes it simple to scroll around and program the timepiece. Battery existence appears excellent to date. Finally, it appears to get the satellites much faster compared to 305 does. In a nutshell, there are lots of items to love.
But...
1. The display isn't fully customizable. There are only four things that it can display (1) Pace, (2) distance, (3) time, (4) Calories. You are able to display two and 3 of individuals anytime, in pairs.

By Katie C. on December 5, 2013 Size: 2.1cm Screen Package Type: Standard Packaging Color: black, Silver
I had been frustrated with the possible lack of precision I had been getting for free running apps like MapMyRun, RunKeeper, Endomondo, ETC. and simultaneously annoyed with/creeped out by the automated voices giving me my pace (You will find, I recognize you are able to turn them off, but it's the best method to stay conscious of how quickly you are going, particularly if your phone is within an armband). I made the decision to pony up for any watch and returned and forth for a long time on what entry-level running Gps navigation to purchase. I've got a pretty small wrist and did not want the majority of a few of the greater-finish Garmin models anyway. I loved the FR 10's easy interface, and I did not believe that I desired lots of bells and whistles (heartbeat, Waterproof, Touch screen and (Paradise forbid) Live Monitoring).
I suppose it's a truth globally acknowledged that "you get what you have to pay for" because after 2+ several weeks of utilizing the FR 10, the knowledge leaves something to become preferred.
Cons:
- Certainly, the greatest frustration continues to be getting satellites. My home is New You are able to, and even though it is a guessing game, it's mainly a miss. Whether it's an overcast day or during the night, I simply leave the timepiece home at this time. I do not reside in a neighborhood with lots of tall structures, but I essentially have to stand in the center of the road from the avenue one half block away to get anything, even just in the perfect conditions. Even so, there's lots of beginning / restarting from the watch that has got to continue. I've had problems getting satellites on bridges and in Central Park (from tree cover) too. Not the easiest method to begin a run.
- After working a few minutes looking to get satellites, I've had the Gps navigation just crap out after 1.45 miles. When you are midway with an 8-mile run and you appear lower at the watch and it states you've gone only one. Read more › 3 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Tim Eckel on October 17, 2012 size: 2.1cm Screen Package Type: Standard Packaging Color: Green/White
I am a lengthy-time Garmin Forerunner user. My first was the 305 and Now i make use of the 310XT when i do ultra-distance marathons and Ironman distance triathlons. I acquired the Forerunner 10 in my wife, that is about ideal for her. She's under 5 feet with small wrists so how big the Forerunner 10 is ideal. The tranquility of can also be very welcome. Nothing fancy, Just Start, Stop, just like she would like. The lime eco-friendly color is another huge bonus on her.
I made use of her Forerunner 10 a few occasions and she's been with them a couple of days now. Let's focus on the issues, which there are just two.
First, the missing lap pace and average pace display. As the current pace is rather accurate, but it does not replace the necessity to know your AVERAGE pace within the entire run and your average pace for that current Lap. This is actually vital information for just about any runner doing say one half marathon that's searching to complete at some point. I believed the virtual pacer would solve this issue. but, still it only shows your present pace versus. what you place for the virtual pace. It ought to demonstrate what lengths ahead or behind you're when compared with your virtual pacer. Essentially, the virtual pacer is useless, because it just shows your present pace, just like the pace field does. The only time you can actually get an average pace is at the end of a mile (Lap) where it displays the typical for your mile. This dove-tales in to the second problem...
Next, the beeper is extremely quiet. My spouse cannot listen to it whatsoever while running unless of course she puts the timepiece against her ear. This will be significant because to understand your average pace during the last mile, you need to catch it right at the time the mile (Lap) Finishes. It just displays the lap here we are at a couple of seconds. If you cannot listen to it beep, you will never get the mile pace. Read more › 18 Comments Was this review useful for you?
