By HT_amateur on November 12, 2011
I got myself one of these simple from about 9 several weeks ago, to exchange a classic Polk 150w sub. Even if this would be a smaller sized size driver/cone, it considerably out-performed the Polk it replaced. I loved it a lot, which i wanted another one to possess a less "directional" bass. Within my house, I can not squeeze bass where it's location audibly is not apparent. And So I anxiously waited for an additional 'sale', and added another one. This rounded the room, and the positional nature from the bass source(s), is not apparent. It really models-the room. The directional nature from the bass, isn't a subwoofer issue -- it is a placement issue.
For that cost versus. Performance, in my 7.1 Home Entertainment atmosphere, it was an excellent addition.
I'll note, that both units take a seat on hardwood flooring, and even with the rubber pads (that include it) beneath the smallish ft, it'll 'walk' a little in case you really crank up -- specifically for music, ETC... Hasn't bothered me enough to figure out a better solution -- will probably see if adding some additional rubber pads (like those that go below sofas) will solve the 'walk'. I docked 1 star (4 of every 5) due to the walk and the look issue leading into it.
again, I am no audiophile -- so individuals who wish to spend 3-4 occasions just as much, to obtain that "little little more" from a subwoofer, sonically speaking, then that's great. I am an expense-conservative person, and this - on purchase - really suit you perfectly, two times)
also, certainly one of my needs was downward firing -- I've cats, and anything having a face grill wouldn't survive. This can be useful for individuals with this 'unique' situation.4 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Bone on June 9, 2013
Don't allow the little, "eight-inch" size scare you away. this factor is LOUD. But it's not only loud... it hits hard, Accurate, and Deep. It isn't excessively "boomy", and it isn't "muddy" sounding whatsoever. It's lots of power, and is extremely over-kill for that bookshelf loudspeakers it is built to use. (Klipsch Icon KB-15/Synergy B-20) It does not look attractive in pictures, but it's much better searching personally. Has all of the inputs and controls you'll need around the back, without anything extra you do not need. very, excellent woofer.
Merely a couple of, small small things I'd change or want to see step up from:
- The ft/shape. Let me visit a more boxy, full-searching, less curvy shape at the pinnacle. The ft are also a glossy plastic and stand out towards the sides. Ft directly under it might be nice, therefore it does not seem like a large four-legged box.
- The speaker diaphragm is appropriate at the base, united nations-covered and united nations-protected. also, really the only method to comfortable slowly move the speaker is as simple as picking up from the underside. So be cautious when moving it or placing it lower you don't get it through the speaker, or puncture/indent the speaker.1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Andrew on This summer 26, 2014
I needed something to accomplish my house theater system's low finish seem but would be a little nervous purchasing this because My home is a connected townhome with neighbors on sides and I did not wish to disturb them. The seem this subwoofer produces is amazing! I merely keep your volume knob 1/three of the way switched up and it creates the perfect quantity of bass to complete my theater setup without causing an excessive amount of disturbance. The reduced ends it creates are crisp and tight. also, the standby feature works flawlessly. There's a vibrant blue light in front from the unit but it does not bother/draw attention away from me an excessive amount of. It is also nice to possess a visual indicator when it's on and if this turns off to guarantee the standby functionality is working correctly. The system itself looks excellent and compliments our new theater components. It will include rubber caps that may be connected to the ft for placement on hard surfaces but I discovered these to be missing and so i used my very own simple/cheap adhesive non-clever rubber pads to help keep it in position and help absorb vibration. would recommend.Comment Was this review useful for you? By Paul Q on This summer 20, 2014 Excellent subwoofer particularly if you have wood flooring. The lower facing design produces clean, solid bass that fills in the bottom of your seem system. I'm utilizing it within my 2.1 setup (not surround) and It really works great. This area is larger than I'd want it to be. Only use the measurements within the outline to make certain you will find the right space for this.
The car on/off feature works perfectly. It comes down on whenever a signal hits it and turns off after a period with no signal (roughly twenty minutes). I had a Sony front firing model that would turn off after just a couple of minutes of not sensing a strong signal (like once the music softens). It might continue and off - it might have been defective. This isn't the situation using the Klipsch.
very satisfied and glad I purchased it.
For your information - I'm a novice. One factor that helped me pause which was it had left and right RCA jacks around the back. My receiver has only one output. You are able to plug the only cable in to the LEFT/LFE jack on the rear of this subwoofer and leave the best jack open. I did not require a special cable.Comment Was this review useful for you?
