Great setup for any promising small to mid-sized Home Entertainment. By jordan on Feb 19, 2011 I made use of the Quintet IV setup for around annually within my small-ant room and was mostly amazed through the results and quality of the little system. Klipsch makes great loudspeakers and this 5-funnel package isn't any exception.
Once you go ahead and take Quintets as they are, you instantly know you are holding quality products. The loudspeakers are solidly built and moderately weighty certainly heavier than you'd expect from the satellite speakers. The binding publish connectors really are a nice touch and tend to be appreciated when it comes to cost you pay, Klipsch could've as fast outfitted all of them with cheap spring connectors. Another nice touch would be that the bases are combination and may be used rather as wall mounts. You are able to tell thought went into the style of these loudspeakers. Our wire runs were relatively short and I given all of them 16-gauge speaker wire, that is ample at shorter distances.
Klipsch loudspeakers are recognized for being very efficient and they are the same. I'd expect any modern surround receiver, No matter cost, so that you can bring them perfectly. I made use of an innovator VSX-21TXH, but I'd expect them perform with equal aplomb when combined with an entry-level receiver. Despite their small size, they make the signature Klipsch horn-loaded seem: very-obvious highs, together with excellent mids for any speaker of the size. They finish up sounding much "bigger" than they are really. Klipsch recommends pairing all of them a subwoofer, because of the natural limitations of satellite loudspeakers. I lately bought this technique and an additional set of the quintet series satellite loudspeakers to setup a 7.1 Surround packaged, I paired it with the recommended sub-woofer (the 350) and it's shocking just how it may sound. I am with such to experience True HD and DTS HD and They're stunning. We do not have a really large room and so i needed something that might be very simple to set up and have look stylish around the walls. I wall-mounted these loudspeakers and ran some cable with the walls and connected these to an innovator 7.1 receiver. I've tested about 100 configurations to obtain the ideal setup for the small family room and these don't dissatisfy, whatsoever. Ought to be fact, I am pretty prepared to say fundamental essentials best loudspeakers you will get inside a sub $1000 package for several. I'd only recommend these for smaller living spaces and they certainly seem better then polks and bose, I'm not sure what hallucinogens the final guy was on... they are far superior then any polks I have heard. Don't buy for those who have a wide open or spacious room, but Still, they could be okay for your too. they're pretty loud, Obvious and have lots of bass, we tend not to turn these up too loud or they hurt. Highly suggested, don't think hard in case your establishing for any small room with HD and limited room. (edit) to include, I use a Pioneer Elite Receiver SC-37 (continues to be substituted for SC-57) and is really a 20ft x 25ft room. hope that can help, it's now several several weeks later and I haven't yet look for a set-up that actually works as flawlessy as mine does, Actually, I compare dto a $130,000 custom home entertainment and my system is better calibrated and therefore sounds better for that space it's in. The client theater was much bigger and less well calibrated, and so i could hear the surround seem in addition to ours and Used to do this for any tiny fraction from the cost, abotu $4000 when compared with $130,000!!5 Comments Was this review useful for you? By Zachary Cheeley on This summer 28, 2011 I saw the truly amazing reviews and thought id give these a go. I purchased a collection on Ebay for 260 and paired all of them with a 110 watt x 7 funnel harman/kardon 7300 receiver. i figured these were awesome simply because they were an awesome upgrade from the logitech z-5500 setup, and this is where many people are originating from: this really is their first non-htiab, or first 5.1 setup. and for any first listen, they sound damn impressive (specifically for their size). but not four to five stars people! these seem mediocre when compared with other SLIGHTLY Bigger loudspeakers, and that comparison isn't reflected inside a five star rating!
dimensions are key with loudspeakers, only purchase these if they're the complete largest setup you are able to easily fit in your residence.
otherwise, Keep searching:
the main reason i only say it is because, As luck might say, i found a set of klipsch rs-35's (2003 era, 97Db efficiency, 125 rms, Retail $500) in a pawn shop not much later for $70, and plugged them to the same setup i described above. The main difference was staggering. i figured i'd upgraded from the logitech setup, but It was the upgrade, there is a significantly wider margin of considerable distinction between these 2 teams of loudspeakers, the quintets and the rs-35's, than between your logitechs and the quintets.
move some crap around and obtain a space removed for something bigger, the rs-35s are 9 lbs and fit on the bookshelf, you will find guys selling their reference series klipsch stuff, and you are able to patch together something 10x nearly as good for **about** exactly the same money. perform a research session on wattage, Efficiency Rating, and ohm level pairing and you know value for money if you notice one.
