By Jalen Anthony Krupa on The month of january 1, 2007 I spent a great 2 days searching for any surround seem speakers in my home entertainment. I had been only searching to invest around $300 and I truly wasn't looking to find anything efficient at that cost. However I ongoing to listen to wonderful reasons for Onkyo loudspeakers and I needed to have a look.
I purchased them here on for $280 ($230 + $50 for shipping). The loudspeakers were nicely packed and showed up farily quick. The loudspeakers not just look wonderful but they believe that they are top quality. Nobody would ever reckon that these loudspeakers cost under $300. Particularly when you hear them. They seem amazing.
Movies seem great together with game titles, (Xbox 360 360). The loudspeakers allow you to hear all of the action, and the sub-woofer enables you to feel every explosion. Onkyo's SKS-HT540's Surround Seem Speakers is really a treat to hear and you won't be dissapointed with this particular purchase. a 7.1 speaker package having a 230 watt powered sub-woofer for less than $300? That's a good deal!
Only downside, (and I have look at this in other reviews about these loudspeakers) is they don't seem great when hearing music. They do not capture the entire seem that tower loudspeakers would. Making sense, therefore if you are going to hear music using these loudspeakers, you might feel just a little dissapointed. Whether it's just movies and game titles... you will be happy.
I will say this about hooking up surround sound speakers (which goes its them), when you initially connect everything, you need to configure your receiver for the greatest possible seem from your loudspeakers. for example, Treble, bass and speaker size are likely to dramatically alter the seem of the theater. so, if when you initially hear these loudspeakers and you are unsatisfied using the seem... You did not assemble them right, because my system sounds incredible after i dialed all things in.7 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... by N. L. Steele on Feb 17, 2009 I have had the SKS-HT540 loudspeakers for around per week and am with them combined with an Onkyo Texas-SR606 receiver to experience movies from the Phillips DVP 5960 upscaling DVD player via HDMI and music from a mature The new sony 5 disc changer with stereo outputs and for video-gaming with an Xbox 360 Console through the optical output.
This area they are available in is gigantic, and what you know already it is a small refrigerator, but that's good packing for shipping because they showed up completely undamaged. the dimensions and wattage overlap with Onkyo represents them the man that claims the fronts are smaller sized than listed is much off base. The speaker wire that comes with them is crap as is to be expected (purchase your own 16 AWG and you will be fine)the most costly set ups don't include nice wire, and most don't include any wire so place a also in the Onkyo box.
I am presently using only the leading three loudspeakers too among the surrounds and the subwoofer, because I've got a set of 5" driver bookshelf loudspeakers which are better voice matched as surrounds for five.1 seem using the front three, I place the surround speaker inside like a sixth funnel for six.1. I'll say the surrounds are substantially weaker than the front three (my AVR set its cutoff at 120Hz versus. 80Hz for that front three and the seem which comes from this is noticeably thinner compared to fronts and my other surrounds this really is reasonable becasue it is a 3 1/8" driver and .75 tweeter, and its seem would probably be less noticeable included using the other four available). The main one other negative I'm able to cite for that subwoofer is it does not possess a phase switch if you find you are getting challenge with resonance, you are going to need to put it differently. by J. s. Stoddard on March 25, 2010
We were wanting to throw together a sort of "auxiliary" home theater for the kids to give them somewhere to go when they didn't want to be under Mom & Dad's elbows (And the other way around!). While certainly we would have liked gear that will last and succeed we had minimal extraneous budget to utilize therefore we feared the accessible options could be, well, missing as you would expect.
The whole setup features a The new sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 32" LCD, a The new sony DVP-NS77H upconverting DVD player, and the kids' PS2 which still enjoys regular use. The Bravia LCD was selected because of its connectivity options and the cost I discovered it for before Christmas at our local Wal-Mart. The DVD player was selected because of its solid reviews, Bravia-Sync capacity with The new sony flatpanel monitors, in addition to cost it had been scored inside a closeout purchase in your area.
For seem reproduction for that above display equipment the The new sony STR-DH800 A/V receiver was selected because of its on-board surround decoding options and the ability to control itself (Clearly), The Television, and the DVD player from one remote while negating the demand for purchasing a third-party universal handheld remote control. Cost again would be a factor when i were built with a merchandise credit this was pending for a while with another online store and the cost I could obtain this specific receiver for after deducting that credit was all but irresistible.
And last but definitely not least the Onkyo SKS-HT540 7.1 surround seem speaker package was selected because of its 7.1 funnel compatibility with 8 separate channels price of loudspeakers such as the active subwoofer, mostly reviews that are positive Online, and finally (our mantra, for a moment) Cost. it had been, hands-lower, The very best available option, both in your area and Online, for less than $240/shipped brand-spankin'-new.
