212 of 215 people found the following review helpful Great Router Table, Hope I'm able to answer some questions...
by T. Meyer on October 1, 2011

after studying reviews and watching whatever video's I possibly could find about this Router Table, I still had some questions. Since I have buy the Router Table Let me answer individuals questions. Although my solutions is going to be focused throughout my setup, I'll attempt to respond to them for other setups. I've got a Ridgid R4512 Surefire Saw, the RIDGID R29302 2 HP Multi Base Router Combo, and the RIDGID WD1450 shop vac. Yes, I love Ridgid. I've designed a small film that we hope will clarify my solutions much more. Let begin with my primary question:
1. How can this Router Table mount to my Saw?
It was my greatest concern. Initially I'm wondering if I needed to mount it left or right side of my saw. When i first thought it might be best mounted by rails right side of my saw. But upon finding the Router table, I found that the 6 holes (3 on each side) for mounting towards the saw rails didn't fall into line properly using the secure slots on my small rails. The holes were about 3mm to low. It might have installed 3mm greater compared to the surface of my saw. I additionally grew to become just a little uncomfortable with this many pounds to date available on my small rails. Yes the rails could offer the weight, but I'd prefer not to.
And So I made the decision to make use of the greater standard method of mounting it and which was to make use of the pre drilled holes on the rear of the router table. You will find seven large pre drilled holes. They aim at two common setups Table saws with 4 mounting holes or table saws with 3 mounting holes. My setup has 3 mounting holes. I understood I needed to mount this 50lb router table myself, (No, my spouse could not help, she's pregnant), and so i grabbed a scrap 2x4 to assist support it as being I placed the bolts. By JMG on November 23, 2009
Formerly, I'd the Bench Dog router table/cabinet and was searching to produce more shop space applying this on my small Jet Supersaw rather of the dedicated router table. it will do the job perfectly. I'm by using this having a Porter Cable router, fits the bottom of my router perfectly and is predrilled in my adjustment wrench. The router fence is movable and has a dust collection port. The mitre slots fit my guides perfectly. I would suggest adding another base for your router and mounting it permanently, this enables you to definitely slide the router in whenver you need to utilize it without the headache of remounting the bottom towards the plate.
Pros
- Router plate could be leveled perfectly about 10 adjustment points.
- Adjustable width fence, locks in position, good dust collection.
- Super heavy...when put into my saw, there's hardly any vibration making for precise routing work. (Obviously, the saw is heavy, but the router table causes it to be moreso.
- Typical Bench Dog quality - I will always be happy with their goods.
Cons
- Super heavy...hard to mount on your own but I had been able to get it done using clamps. Without having a jack stand, you may need a second group of hands.
- Does not come with a router mounting plate (add $55 approximately). I'd planned on transferring my old Bench Dog mounting plate but it wouldn't fit by about 1/16th inch. Make certain you order whenever you order the very best.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... by J. F. Beck on April 20, 2010
By using this on the Delta 36-979 saw. I removed among the built-in wings and replaced it using the bench dog. About this particular saw, I could recycle that old wing by attaching it to another old wing on the other side from the bench.
and so i get: |Bench Dog Router Wing|Table Saw|Old wing 1|Old Wing 2|
The quality is everything you would expect. Solid understandably a surefire table to become. Lots of mounting screws and t-slot screws within the box. Additionally a decent searching fence that I am not using.
I enhanced package with an 32" incra fence (+ incra router question fence) on 72" rails. everything fit great.
The only real gotcha to understand is that you simply MUST obtain the bench-dog router plate or router lift to suit this table. Incra and other lifts their very own unique dimensions and won't fit this table (EVER). The bench dog lift is among the more costly lifts available on the market. I dinged them a star here.. I guess all router lifts should lose just a little credit there.
edit, CORRECTION
See comments below about other lifts which will fit the table.3 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By William Hetrick on This summer 7, 2014
Bought this being an Warehouse deal. The shipping box was beat to heck but The extension and accessories counseled me in perfect order. This screwed on straight to my Ridgid R4512. I did not need to customize the extension or my saw. This saw comes with the left-side motor extrusion. A possible problem I'd was requiring to utilize a swivel extension when tightening lower the middle secure, which really wasn't a problem whatsoever.
I additionally purchased the Incra Master Lift 2 made only for Bench Dog and Rockler tables. I had been expecting to need to perform a little bit of modifying so it'd fit this extension after studying another reviews, but as it turned out after i got the router lift it dropped in. 8 Comments Was this review useful for you? I got myself the Bench Dog Tools 40-102 ProMax Surefire Router Table Extension to choose a SawStop Contractor saw. It installed great with the help of a few holes drilled to complement the saw fence rails. The 4 holes matched perfectly for mounting the extension towards the saw. I additionally fabricated metallic bracket for attaching the table saw's electronic controls within the same position because the factory set up requires, except for being a good inch and half lower. What you know already the Bench Dog is made with this saw. You'll have to purchase metric connecting bolts for attaching the extension towards the saw since it arrives with standard threaded bolts. I'm extremely pleased with this particular setup. It is a component of the left quickly and easily. You will need to possess a drill press to drill the required mounting holes for attaching towards the saw fence rail system, and for drilling holes within the metal bracket required for attaching the saw's electronic control switches. After getting researched other available choices to choose my set-up I provide a b+.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
