103 of 107 people found this review useful To have an $18 air compressor, I am surprised how good it really works. It is a little around the slow side filling a vehicle tire, but I am not complaining. I had been also surprised how small it's. that we find the best factor. It's looks larger within the picture. Additionally, it only weighs 2 lbs. The built-in gauge is accurate within 2 PSI. Something which shocked me. I am happy using the Slime. It will exactly what I would like it to do, and it's cheap.1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Karen on October 10, 2007 54 of 58 people found this review useful I have used the product two times since i have first got it. My work takes me through construction areas frequently and obtaining nails is definitely an work-related hazard. It got me towards the tire repair store, filled rapidly, Was simple to use. Highly suggested.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. By tc on April 18, 2012 111 of 125 people found this review useful For individuals who wish to know, the electrical specifications for this
device are 15 amp draw from a 12 volt source; it appears that
is not capable of supplying these details. sells this device
together with a "Universal AC to DC Car Cigarette Lighter Socket
Adapter (US Plug)" as a "Frequently Bought Together" set; one might be
inclined to believe that these two devices would work together but
if a person checks the particular specifications for that adapter, one finds
the adapter is just able to deliver 300 milliAmps, That's,
a couple ofPercent from the power the inflator needs. If you actually try this
Combination, the adapter seems to safeguard itself by delivering nothing.
To put it simply, the adapter is useless for powering the inflator.8 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... 40 of 42 people found this review useful I personally use this for airing up bike tires. It's an excellent buy for the cost. i've had no issues with it for that year which i have owned it.
My truck includes a cigarette lighter connect the rear and so i keep it back there with my jack. When i have to air up my bike, i simply screw with an adapter and i am all set to go in a couple of minutes.
it will get hot, and It's very loud, but it's still well worth the money!Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... 31 of 32 people found this review useful I got myself this compressor, and an "on-rim" tire plug repair package for an urgent situation repair system for any new vehicle that has run-flat tires and no spare.
It is rated to inflate a small tire (195/R15)to 35 psi in 8 minutes. In case your tire includes a slow leak and isn't flat, clearly it will require a shorter period.
The Slime COMP-02 is small and Lightweight: 32.4 oz including power cable and inflation hose. It's rated for any limited duty cycle of 8 minutes on and fifteen minutes off, so it's not well suited for inflating large tires, or several tire at any given time. Linked to a steel air storage tank, my unit arrived at an indicated pressure approximately 100 psi while being run by an ordinary 12v. lighter outlet (engine off).
As others have noted, it's pretty noisy, will get hot to carry, and vibrates a great deal, but it'll inflate your tires in desperate situations.
Incidentally, the unit I received was damaged which was probably due to it being dropped (the shipping box wasn't broken whatsoever). after i received it, there have been loose parts rattling around inside and the metal compressor itself was loose inside the situation. after i opened up up, I saw two damaged mounting sockets for that rubber mounted compressor motor. They were repaired with a few fast setting epoxy and the compressor was re-put together and found to operate fine.
Due to the way the heavy compressor motor is suspended internally, a tough drop will probably break the mounting "sockets" so I'd recommend being careful to not drop the kodak playtouch camcorder. Should you choose drop it and then hear parts rattling around internally, don't run the compressor until it has been repaired.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... 24 of 26 people found this review useful It vibrates very good, but this is not an issue for me personally as my garage is carpeted besides I hold it to help keep my attention around the gauge. I usually have a problem with service station air since the spokes on my small motorcycle and the trunk drum brake obstruct from the hose. The nozzle around the Slime reaches the right position, in order to easily clamp it towards the tire nipple. The gauge on my small Slime is accurate. Takes my motorcycle tire from 24psi to 30 within 20 seconds. Very easy to plug into my vehicle outlet. Tried on the extender two times to date, so great.Comment Was this review useful for you? 26 of 29 people found this review useful I got myself this compressor several several weeks ago since it is difficult finding gasoline stations that offer "free" air for their customers. This little workhorse provides peace-of-mind just by getting it inside your vehicle. Don't worry obtaining a flat tire and then discovering that the spare has run out of air. it really works very well, I purchased another in my second vehicle and gave someone to my buddy in-law for Christmas. Slime has improved the environment gauge on my small latest purchases too, although no gauges are calibrated properly. They are only off by 2-4 pounds though, so nothing major there. If the product has any negatives it is you must keep it while using the it since it vibrates a lot. Run it around the pavement and it'll walk everywhere.Comment Was this review useful for you? Please try again I'm a auto technician - Same one they offer at Walmart - Complete garbage - Fell apart after one use.
By Customer on December 26, 2011 31 of 38 people found this review useful Such as the title states this is actually the same one they offer at Walmart. Which doesn't turn it into a bad product...........the merchandise causes it to be a poor product. It did inflate the tire in decent time (for no more than the compressor is). but.......
I got myself this to simply leave within the vehicle to make use of throughout an emergency. Today I needed to utilize it:
Unhealthy reasons for it would be that the attachment which goes around the tire is challenging off and on. also, The Very First Time I Made Use Of IT THE 12V CHARGER SIDE Broke Within The OUTLET AND Remained Inside. I desired to show the vehicle off and get needle nose pliers to have it out. Complete garbage. Spend your hard earned money on the better one.
update: I lately purchased that one: Viair 00073 70P Durable Portable Compressor The main difference is unbelievable, It's so much quieter and the pump is of great importance and greater quality, and the good thing would be that the connector for that tire valve SCREWS on, so forget about tugging onto it and it getting stuck. So glad I got myself it.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us.
