I purchased 2 of those and will be in the RF business for 25 years. Ferrite is perfect for RF noise and with this stated can be used in the right way. I have read several reviews how they are not effective and that's not true, there are other factors towards the equation.
I lately did another computer build and each time I switched on the pc the T.V. lost several channels due to interference or commonly known as RF noise or EMI (electromagnetic interference). I discovered the origin from the problem that was my OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W power. Solution was one Ferrite Core noise suppressor around the cord and wala works like no bodies business.
Computers released lots of RF noise and or Electromagnetic interference and can avoid along side it panel being off, pci slot missing, bay panel being off, you will find simply to many to list out but it may be fixed having a procedure for elimination.
Most components have a ferrite bead in it, monitors, rodents, Keyboards and the loudspeakers. Therefore if your getting problems 'Google It! and you'll repair it.
Anyway it really works and I would suggest for everybody with RF noise or EMI.6 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By M. Newman on March 18, 2010
I visited "easily snap" onto my power cable on my small tv and the two locking tabs broke instantly. (you can observe them within the item picture) Even with little pressure, this stuff are fragile. I finished up wrapping it on the website with electrical tape. Still did not solve my noise problem but I do not think it's this products fault. However, 1/4" ought to be 1/4". The interior diameter appears only a hair smaller sized than 1/4", enough to matter. Customers might want to buy the 3/8" size rather safe.Comment Was this review useful for you? Folks claiming this does not work should be misapplying it or utilizing it to solve the incorrect kind of problem. Ferrite has been utilized for several years being an RF shield in many gadgets to get rid ofOrreduce RF interference.
Within my situation, I'd a problem within my home studio room with obtaining an invisible station through my guitar. I'm not sure if I'm near a repeater or a nearby neighbor is using some sort of low quality amplifier or wireless transmitter (inside a nearby room, the signal is more powerful and makes playing with an amp extremely difficult without some feng shui and bodily contortions) but, After a little troubleshooting, I tracked the offender to become an inline device I personally use between my guitar and Recording Interface. The unit includes a short hardwired 1/4 unbalanced cable and it had been this specific cable which was serving as the antenna.
After ordering this item and attaching it to the finish from the cable nearest it interface, radio stations transmission is finished.
I did not appraise the inner diameter but it appears the diameter from the ferrite core is slightly smaller sized compared to diameter from the plastic covering so other reviewers are most likely in it's less than 1/4".2 Comments Was this review useful for you? By Kelly on September 18, 2010
Works not surprisingly. I placed the ferrite core on the custom 2.5mm, male to male cable which goes between my Xbox 360 Console controller and the mixamp in my Astro A40 headset. It's for that mic around the headset in order to speak with people on XBOX Live. Prior to the ferrite core my buddies would state that they heard lots of static on my small finish. I Then bought this ferrite core placed it around the cable and everything was as obvious as day. Very good.2 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Seems well made enough (how tricky could it be to create a ferrite collar?), but the particular inside diameter is under 1/4", and so i could not rely on them simply because they wouldn't close throughout my cords. I contacted the vendor and they sent replacements, but these were the very same factor. If you do not require the full 1/4", you ought to be fine. Should you choose, look elsewhere.
edit: I have had the ability to use a few of these on some cheap HDMI cables I purchased, so that's awesome.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Cory on August 5, 2012
Fits the ability cords combined with most electronics, and appears like it had been made there. My noise problem was too big for starters to solve, but when I added more (Different model), the issue was resolved. Just from adding one of these, the issue was rather less severe. If you want several, browse around amazon . com to find the best value on offer on the given day.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Douglas R. Miner on June 28, 2013
I am most likely confessing my ignorance concerning the physics of sound system noise abatement, but the product was suggested in my experience by a sound component manufacturer to eliminate a minimal level ground buzz. Regrettably it wasn't effective. I ultimately improved results by re-orienting my audio signal and Energy Cables. The product may go to lessen noise generated by RF interference, but it did not assist me to. A minimum of it had been an affordable lesson!Comment Was this review useful for you?
