By Sally Ortiz on November 26, 2013
I've been hunting for a projector since last black Friday. In the last year I've had many models achieve the top of the my list. Used to do extensive research on all products, three dimensional glass, cables ect.... The finish result was my acquisition of the Benq 1080st. I'm able to honestly express it was among the best purchases of my existence. It'll truely change how you watch television or movies. I personally use it everyday for TV viewing and three dimensional movies. I've it about 7 ft in the wall and it displays about 140 inches. Consider that for any second....140 inches of 1080p glory.
setup:
Very easy (required maybe 10min, most was moving calbe wires and stuff).
Anybody semi familar by having an High Definition Tv shouldn't have any problems navigating recption menus around the Benq. altering the colours, Brightness and contrast will appear familar. Setting the lamp to the power setting is too easy (econo continues to be vibrant enough for everything). Setting the zoom and modifying the main focus is simple and fun to alter. Associated with pension transfer other reviews I'd recommend yet another seem system of some kind.
display quality:
The Television I replaced would be a 46inch Samsung. I'm able to honestly say it has a much better picture. It's vibrant, crisp and Obvious. If you have some form of Comcast (XFINITY) most show are displayed in 720p. That's no-fault from the benq but the initial broadcast signal. Still looks great. Any 3d movie rental on comcast is displayed in 1080i. That appears not far from cinema 3D. Packages and Bluray 3D display at 1080p. After I saw the image the very first time in 1080p 3d, I chuckled in hysteria since i couldn't believe my eyes! It had been amazing! Read more › 1 Comment Was this review useful for you? By Steve R. on November 6, 2014
This BenQ is my first projector. My first impression after i unboxed the projector and hooked up was "WOW! This really is amazing" despite projecting onto my blank white-colored wall. the colours are vibrant and the brightness and contrast is perfectly acceptable in my experience. I purchased the projector mainly to make use of outdoors during the night to see relatives and buddies to look at backyard movies on.
but... there's one factor that bothers me. I've performed using the focus and discover that I am unable to achieve an evenly focused image. I particularly wanted a complete HD projector and was expecting a razor sharp image since it is full HD using DLP technology and I'm feeding it a complete HD signal via HDMI. The main focus is slightly off around the upper area of the image when compared to lower part. And vice-verse basically adjust the main focus opposite. Basically adjust the zoom slightly, the unfocused area changes to a different area. for movies, this isn't so bad and hardly noticeable. But when projecting text such as the channel guide on DirecTV (running at 1080 res) or from my laptop (also at full HD res), you can observe a definite focus difference in the upper to reduce area of the forecasted image. Within the focused area, the look is razor sharp and you can observe each pixel clearly. However in the unfocused area, the look is very soft.
I've got a 114" Elite Screens screen developing Monday and I'll observe how I'm able to tolerate this focus issue on the proper screen. I recognize that within the main issue this projector isn't exactly high-finish, but I'm sure the main focus Might be better. It appears to become a quality problem with the lens greater than other things since i can push slightly lower around the lens and obtain a nearly 100% sharp focused image. By Lee E. on May 19, 2013
This really is my first personal projector, otherwise I have only seen other's and those I purchase for work presentation setups. BUT I Must SAY, for me it's absolutely fantastic, obvious crisp picture that even seems to ignore almost all the sunshine pollution which comes in the door of my split level, the only real exception happens when the scene is super dark/black for apparent reason, if there's any real light towards the scene, you actually cant tell.
like I stated, the look is sharp an intense, Great brightness, everything just looks right, I virtually seem like I've got a 100in TV on my small wall. Love rapid throw, I've got a moderately small man cave and on the top of this I needed so that you can do motion stuff with kinect, Wii, ETC. and so i needed so that you can keep movements from getting in the manner, Mission accomplished, I'm able to stand 4ft from the screen and 't be when it comes to the projection, giving me lots of space to maneuver.
Other Notes:
+Runs very close to silent, the only real time I spot the fan happens when there's little else to listen to.
+Not used at all the built-in speaker so can't comment but others allow it to be seem like its decent, Really though, if you are doing something similar to this, don't cheat yourself using built-in loudspeakers, obtain a real setup, even when its only like 2.1 or 3.1 or maybe even a seem bar(they create some very good ones nowadays).
+As others will explain, adjustments will be to take into account angels etc are extremely limited so be cautious and Understand it properly.
+I do not feel I notice the classic projector visual oddities, I've got a pretty nice fixed frame screen from Elite Screens. Try them out, Top qualityOrcost and they aren't that challenging come up with. Manual is not always 100% obvious so be cautious but its still very good.
+Haven't selected up glasses yet. Searching at some once i finish this review.3 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
