76 of 82 people found the following review helpful Bright HD Projector For Man Cave
By AVGUY on June 19, 2013 Style Name: Projector Only In the last ten years, This is actually the third and best projector I've set up in my basement entertainment room.
Previous projectors incorporated an XGA LCD projector displaying on the 92" diameter, Fixed Frame, 16:9, zero gain screen. Used to do have black bars top and bottom that grew to become annoying and so i updated the projector to some DLP model by having an anamorphic lens. The 2nd projector was great - far better ANSI contrast and more realistic color display compared to LCD model. Over seven years, brightness faded and I made the decision to purchase a brand new projector rather of buying a substitute lamp for $450(!).
I had been torn between your Optoma HD25 and HD25-LV understanding that with greater brightness color fidelity would suffer a little. In my recreation room I often leave reading lights on in the seating area (from the screen) and full lights on within the back room, therefore the greater brightness projector made sense. also, basically ever choose to view 3D videos or play 3D games a better projector helps you to offset brightness lost when putting on 3D shutter glasses.
I'm totally thrilled using the purchase. Contrast, Color and brightness are HUGE enhancements when compared with my last projector.
Pros
vibrant, really bright image
Contrast is amazing
Colors are good
Setup was easy, compared to previous projector with anamorphic lens
Cons
With lights off - image is simply too vibrant, but there is a setting that allows brightness to be dimmed
Fan could be heard during quiet scenes, but not as noticeable as my last projector - I did not notice the buzzing noise mentioned by another reviewer
Setup could have been simpler with vertical and horizontal lens shift - I know this would add great expense to the projector so I opted to save $$$
To date, so great. I recommend the HD25-LV.3 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. By Came Koballa on Feb 15, 2014 Style Name: Projector Only
I held off reviewing this projector for any couple of several weeks since i desired to place it through some paces.
to begin with, the projector includes built-in setup screens, such as a grid system that made obtaining the screen mounts on your wall considerably simpler of computer could have been with only an empty white-colored screen. also, the projector enables the origin to become locked- that is nice to help keep family people from being confused on how to power the entertainment system on.
In the beginning, I had been really astounded by how vibrant the projector is. The colour spectrum does very well despite the strong brightness, especially compared holiday to a projector I have encounter. The image overall was very good, we've it forecasted at 103" diagonal size with 720p "HD" cable signal.
Then we finally got around to playing a bluray movie through our PS3 (1080P HD)¢ñ and i was really impressed. Maybe I am getting old, but I am both astounded by the detail that are visible in 1080p definition and the detail this projector can throw 12 ft onto a wall at 103" across.
following a couple of several weeks, I am still amazed at how vibrant this projector is- and we've it in "eco" mode to increase lamp existence. However, I acquired to check the most recent bit of technology- 3D. I purchased DLP 3D glasses ("True Depth 3D? Firestorm XL Superior Quality DLP-LINK Rechargeable 3D Glasses") and the projector was quick to begin in 3D mode.
Each of the features i was searching toward enjoying with this particular projector happen to be once we expected, and there has been another nice surprises. By G. Morath on October 22, 2014 Style Name: Projector Only This projector is ideal for my install. It might not possess the best display quality in comparison to the Epson or BenQ inside a dark room but while in my vibrant family room this projector proforms perfectly. The 3d is sharp, the colours totally blow away my old Lcd television. I'd bit this projector again.
One disadvantage though. The projector comes with a little bit of rainbow effect when on 3d mode. Even the color wheel produces an audible whiring seem when near to the projector this really is not noticeable from the couch using the projector installed on the ceiling. By Klaatu Barada Nikto on December 17, 2013 Style Name: Projector Only I purchased this projector strictly for 3D use like me still quite happy with my Mitsubishi HC3800 for 2D. After much research, where I must say i considered projectors like the BenQ W7000, the BenQ W1070, and the Acer HD6510BD, I chosen that one due to the extra lumens. I am glad Used to do! The quality of the 3D is superior to my (much-loved) Optoma HD66. I'm able to say with full confidence the 3D knowledge about this projector exceeds the film theater experience. I have loved 3D movies for nearly 50 years, presently convey more than 80 3D Blu-sun rays, and I am now enticed to look at each of them again. I recommend the Optoma ZF2100 RF glasses to be used with this particular projector, because the RF glasses never lose sync, even just in very vibrant scenes, an issue I from time to time had with DLP-Link glasses. (I realize the eStar ESG6000 glasses, that are less costly compared to Optoma glasses, will also be highly considered.) As pointed out elsewhere, make sure to purchase glasses that support 144hz.
I have viewed six 3D movies from starting to finish so far and I'm able to only describe the 3D as perfect. Zero crosstalk, Perfect sync, and the emitter even figures out the correct 3D polarity so I have not needed to "flip" the left-eye right-eye sequence (normally something that's only needed in the beginning of viewing). I required a lengthy time to determine the very best projector I possibly could have for an acceptable cost, and I possibly could 't be more happy!2 Comments Was this review useful for you?
