4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Antiquing brass

Outside of the smell (that is tolerable)the merchandise works very well combined with the copper sulfate solution. Put the liver of sulfur (4 oz .) into 2 gallons water and 2 ounces of copper sulfate by 50 percent gallons water and your prepared to antique brass. The whole process takes under an hour or so.1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. By Erica on Feb 23, 2013 It was the first sort of liver-of-sulfur I attempted to oxidize my jewellery. It (was smelly but) labored for any couple of several weeks. But as it turned out it expired and no more oxidized my jewelry expert towards the dark color I had been wishing to attain.
I replaced it using the gel. A little container of gel lasts considerably longer than this chunky stuff, and Works far better.
I suggest buying Extended Existence Liver of Sulfur Patina Oxidation Gel 4 ounces 45022 over the product.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... I have tried personally other products and they aren't as potent because this stuff. You simply need a percentage to patina your works so be sparing. If you feel it's not enough work in two and then utilize it. It appears to be really effective it's a dream become a reality.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Mary W. Cruz on December 12, 2012
Sounds funny to say of a compound, but this Liver of Sulfur is very fresh & fast-acting. It showed up by having an extra seal round the lid--to help keep the moisture that may render it useless. Labored GREAT on my small first batch of etched metal.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. The product did exactly what I wished it might do. I oxidized a lot of silver findings for many earrings which i made. They switched out great. 4 oz. was far more than I desired, but I'd heard the liquid or gel types of liver sulfur lose their oxidizing qualities pretty rapidly. The dry form I believe could keep for much longer. I sealed the rest of it inside a glass jar.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Our purpose ended up being to age brass. we adopted the directions, heated water, measured the correct quantity, cleaned the various components etc.
However the solution didn't perform as marketed. Very slow acting, never achieved the antique effect. We'd to make use of Drano and ammonia to obtain the result needed.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
